In an attempt to build out the world and the rest of the bloated ensemble, Disenchantment not only shortchanges its heroes but also loses sight of what made the series modestly fun in the first place.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Watch season 3's mermaid episode and you'll see the very embodiment of everything wrong with Disenchantment in general. It can't decide which which direction it wants to go. It suddenly decides to inject a new plot element (evidently Bean is gay now despite being attracted to men in season 1) without resolving an old plot thread and then continue to meander along without explaining anything until the last minute when the show suddenly decides it cares again only for the plot to flatline once more. In the mean time it tries to not so subtly inject feminism and gender politics. Disenchantment once had alot of potential but now its just frustrating and boring. It doesn't even want to be a comedy anymore. Just turn it off and let it die. The show itself doesn't care anymore. Why should we? Full Review »

Even the characters make it explicitly clear that they couldn't care less about anything happening. It's all just random nonsense. I only finished it because I have a compulsive need to finish shows I start. I probably won't start season 4 at all. I don't need another however many hours of misery, I already have plenty after season 3. Full Review »
