Summary: Annie tells Fred to take the rubbish to the tip in the Rover. Hilda starts cleaning at No. 9. ALBERT: "If you've bin in a trench with a chap you know him. And he knows you. If you can still be pals after that you will always be pals." Albert puts on his medals and takes the bus to Manchester where he lays a wreath for Monty. The bin men atAnnie tells Fred to take the rubbish to the tip in the Rover. Hilda starts cleaning at No. 9. ALBERT: "If you've bin in a trench with a chap you know him. And he knows you. If you can still be pals after that you will always be pals." Albert puts on his medals and takes the bus to Manchester where he lays a wreath for Monty. The bin men at the tip recognise Fred and refuse to let him dump the rubbish. Eddie longs to heal the breach but Annie refuses to budge. Annie goes to visit Joan, unable to cope with the smell any longer. Len is annoyed that Rita is paying Hilda out of the Kabin's takings. He tells her that she should try running the Yard if she's so clever.
