Nov 9, 2014Matt Ryan delivers a haunting performance as Constantine, but its convoluted plot and hokum backstory makes it seem derivative and fails to stand out as its own show.
-
Nov 4, 2014Constantine offers some great action but it doesn't give the audience anything else. Even with the action Constantine feels dull, unoriginal, and pretty lame.
-
Nov 1, 2014Too much, too loud, too flashy, too Matt. I have watched one and one half showings of "Constantine" and I cannot remember a single thing about the plots. I do remember that he has flaming hands and the world is simply filled with these nasty little demons ready to do you harm. Fear not, the ineffective Constantine is here to save you. God help you!

Constantine seems like a good fit tonally for Friday night companion series “Grimm,” but Constantine will need to more clearly establish its world--and the rules of its world--and better define its characters if it hopes to become a fanboy favorite.
-
There's the structure for a sturdy but unremarkable supernatural procedural (and companion piece to "Grimm"), but in the pilot, at least, producers David Goyer and Daniel Cerone aren't aiming for much more.

The pilot is very spotty.
