Can you write a two-hour TV story based entirely on your characters making totally stupid decisions – one after the other after the other? “Complications” features an angry doctor and a street nurse, who both have the absolutely worst judgment possible. I have tried, but so far I cannot think of a worse show on television.

Come on USA! You are doing some pretty good stuff lately. This one apparently sneaked through your quality control department.

The first episode is "So-Bad-it's-good" but the show quickly goes downhill from there. Every episode after the first becomes a drawn out, boring, lifeless ripoff of Breaking Bad. Complications is not worth your time unless you are a complete masochist.

Great show it keeps you interested on what is gonna happen with the kid Ellison saved, and this is probably one of the best medical shows I've seen in a while besides the now cancelled RUSH which this takes the place of. Yes this show has a few plot holes but not enough complications with Complications that I could see hurting the show in the future. GOOD LEAD IN JASON O MARA

Complications is a good title for this show. The main characters, and their lives, are quite complicated. USA offered the first two episodes last night, and made a third available online and on demand. They want you to get hooked into the story, which is understandable since it has a very fringe premise. How can you build a series around an increasingly complicated set of events? This feels more like something that would be good as a movie, or a mini-series. I was engrossed in the first two hours, but I don't see how it's sustainable in the long term. Expand

When a wannabe TV thriller doesn’t work, the show devolves into a morass of characters making repeated bad decisions, like “Groundhog Day” but without the intentional comedy.

Complications chooses antic over subtlety, banging around from one crazy plot development to another. O'Mara is a very likable actor and Szohr does her very best, but for reasons known only to himself, Nix eschews the black humor that made "Burn Notice" so brilliant, which is too bad.

Nix knows how to dig deeper holes for his folks, while he broadens their motivations, sometimes recognized only along the way. Nix isn't bad at keeping the plot pot percolating, either.
