    This show is cute but is completely hamstrung by the ironclad Politically Correct strangle hold paradigm firmly entrenched in the entertainment industry. The black character finds all white people annoying and unfunny. The black character lectures the white people. The black character is not to be challenged EXCEPT by the gay man. Yawn.     The plots aren't strong.... Yet there are bright spots, mostly in the form of ol' George Wendt, as the shop's (gay) owner, and Lauren Lapkus, who bring some quirk to this stale comedy. [26 Jun 2015, p.55]

    While neither dialogue nor sitcom tropes could be called fresh, the pilot plays solid, relying on able actors to score under tight direction (James Widdoes).
