JamesO.Nov 19, 2008Pretty good. Had some funny vignettes. People are comparing this to chappelle's show, and while the two are similar, they really can't be compared. I think it's being unfairly compared to chappelle's show only because they're both black. This show has a lot more relevant political humor than Chappelle does.

KTOct 31, 2008Solid comedy by David Alan Grier, who has been an underrated talent. It can only get better as he settles into the format.

TeeJJan 28, 2009I have always loved D.A.G. and I am hapy he has finally found the proper forum for his tremendous and versitile talent. I absolutely LOVE this show. So much so that I have watched the episodes again on On-Demand. Keep up the good work!!

This is social satire, and Grier's job is to make a mainstream audience see race and power in new ways. That often involves shock.
-
Credit Grier for trying, credit Comedy Central for adding another voice to the mix, and keep hoping that a show like this eventually hits its stride.
-
It pales-- satirically speaking, anyway--when compared with the "Daily Show," especially with Chocolate's tired sketch about imaginary rapper Phat Man. More promising is a bit in which Grier's Maya Angelou recites a poem penned to commemorate a McCain victory
