Summary: Checkmate gets the job of protecting recently-widowed, thrill-seeking Gloria Kenyon from her rich, vengeful mother-in-law, who believes Gloria arranged her son's death by parachute to collect his inheritance. The elder Mrs. Kenyon soon dies, but not before hiring someone to kill Gloria, an order which still stands.
