The 1st episode of this season (4) is probably the worst one of the entire series. The 2nd episode is just so-so. Honestly, there are almost zero funny parts, outside what you likely saw from their pre-season teaser trailer. And to be honest, if digitally super-imposing Bevers head on a buff body is your top "hilarious" moment of an episode, you're seriously stretching. The Broad City duo does not suddenly discover responsibility and sobriety. What instead happens is that the world inflicts some pain upon them, and the show guffaws at their gonzo squirming.

There is both a unity and a contrast between their two comic personas that is sharp here.
