    Shonda Rhimes has another hit on her hands. I was pleasantly surprised by the series, and ended up binge-watching it in less than 2 days. The storyline is entertaining and the cast is very charismatic. I didn't read the series but I'm looking forward to future seasons featuring the other Bridgerton siblings . Regé-Jean Page, who was cast as the duke was the standout in this series, and heShonda Rhimes has another hit on her hands. Most of the negative 0 point reviews are from people who are angry with the diverse casting (and probably did not even watch the series), so if you don't have problem with this, then you will love this series.… Expand

    If you favor Gossip Girl, that would be just it in another decade!! Highly recommend!

    The story is romantic and funny. The fact that this is a diverse cast may be unsettling to some but I found it very believable and the cast is fantastic.

    Com uma trama intrigante e personagens carismáticos, Bridgerton nos prende desde o princípio. A série é repleta de cenas emocionantes, engraçadas e espirituosas que nos faz questionar como situações vividas há 200 anos atrás ainda estão fortemente enraizadas na sociedade atual.
    E isso tudo, ao som de uma trilha sonora impecável.

    A hundred percent Jane Austen meets Gossip Girl, Such a brilliant series, binged it with in 2 days. Julia Andrews does a brilliant job as the voice of Lady Whistledown. The acting is well done and is well casted. Overall I really eye catching, binge-worthy show, cannot wait for the next series

    Highly enjoyable series. It’s meant to be fluffy entertainment and that’s exactly what it is. The casting was impeccable, the production was pretty, the story was fun and I was never bored.

    Loved it. And I’m not usually a fan of historical romance/drama. This was just so funny, entertaining and just plain enjoyable. It doesn’t hurt that the leads have great chemistry. Ignore the 1 star reviews. Most are just objecting to the people of color in the film. It’s hard to actually watch this and not love it.

    A great Christmas Day watch, especially with the 2020 we have had!
    Fun, doesn't take it self too seriously, beautiful costumes and a great cast.

    Bunch of racists bringing down the score. This is a crowd-pleaser where "historical accuracy" is irrelevant. Don't take it so seriously. It's a Shonda Rhimes show.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The series is pretty epic. It flips the script on British history, if you are looking for historical accuracy this is not for you. The salacious spectacle, the grand costumes, the suspense over the narrator the good looking and talented cast all make for a fun and memorable. Ultimately, i think the series leans far too much on sex. i don't think there is anything wrong with a sex scene but it just feels like there are too many of them here. Perhaps to emphasize the scandalous nature of it all??, i don't know but sex is definitely used as a crutch. Still, it is a sight to see… Expand

    Trashy show. I heard about how it had more views than Stranger Things. Went into it with no idea what it was about. Well it isn't entertaining or intelligent. Just trashy. Maybe some teenage girls might like it. I'm a middle age man and definitely wasn't for me. Pretty good costume and style.

So in order to promote racial iguality we perpetuate toxic practices in the entertainment industry? Because you know, ''representation matters'', even when it makes no sense... Bridgerton it's just pure sensationalism, a show that lacks any real substance, and exists only to please a handful of stupid and naive people, that are very scandalous on social media, so the companies feel coerced to bow, because they cannot risk losing some sponsorships. This is a show that basically spits in western history(no SJWs, dear ''woke'' people, there were no blacks in the european high society at that time, and certainly there was no black person in the British royal family before Meghan Markle, this is not even a ''hot take'', this is just straight facts LOL) in the name of hypocritical and opportunistic notions of equality, it's the kind of TV garbage that american''liberals''love so much,''oh look how inclusive we are, we put some black people in everything, it's great to fight against racism, what a great person i am!'', but all they do is regurgitate empty speeches and improvise acts of''damage containment'', just to say that they are doing something. This show is an american''damage containment'', a completely hollow pile of crap that sells itself as bold and important when in reality is just another disposable content that exists just so a bunch of hypocritical, condescending, and overly sensitive people can give a little tap in their own backs and sleep well, thinking that they did their part. Bridgerton is a perfect example of American cynicism, they should leave period pieces with the english. (And no, saying things like ''it's just fiction, so they can do whatever they want with the plot and cast actors of any color'' is not a valid argument, because even when an audiovisual work is mostly fictional, if it includes true events of history, and portrays people who really existed, the veracity of these events has to be preserved, respecting the minutiae of what was officially described. Fiction does not mean abdicating basic logic, not when it comes to adapting true events, as much you may take some poetic liberties, the faithful reproduction of central elements of the real story must be maintained, if not, will you not be making a coheecive and respecful piece of entertainment, you will be making a bad joke. So yes, this show is racist for blackwashing white history and casting black actors to play people that would logically be white. That's it.… Expand

    Julia Quinn is a fantastic author who did a fantastic job with her novels. I own all of the Brigertons novels, and love how historically accurate they are with well developed characters who challenged the societal and gender norms of the day. (1805ish) I was really taken back when the royalty was black but thought "well maybe they were just the best actors and actresses for the job?" An annoying, cliche fairy tale that is the very definition of fake, toxic wokeness, with it's completely forced diversity and hollow story. Not to mention the plobematic ''romance'' that comes with in(they even glamurize rape),but i guess everyone is just happy to look past that, because the actor is a good looking black guy, soThis show is one of the stupidest things i've ever seen.     Ok guys it's just me or this show is just an 8 hours long BLACKED video but with the explicit sex scenes cut off? LOL... The whole thing it's just SO bad, the dialogs are terrible, the costumes look like they came from de Bill&Ted movies, the story is so hollow and the characters are so unlikeble. I'm truly shocked that nobody is talking about how they glamurize raping, oh yeah!     As expected, its garbage. So many good 'critic' reviews is because of the 'color blind' casting I guess. Metacritic says its like "Downton Abbey...with more sex". Shows like Downton Abbey did just fine without the sex.

    the vaunted diversity of the show doesn't extend to the writers room where 7 of the 9 writers are middle aged or geriatric whites. not that the show is really all that diverse anyhow with the unfortunate exclusion of transsexuals or the differently abled

    Show every sign of having watched one too many episodes of Downton Abbey. ... I felt by the end of the first episode it had delighted me with its presence long enough, and yet … and yet … Was there not, after all, room for just one more? And, perhaps, another after that?

    This is a series which wears its charms on its sleeve from the start and thus has no shame about its desire to beguile and bewitch viewers. It succeeds thanks to creator Chris Van Dusen’s understanding of the material and some smart, spritely scripts from a young female-led writing room.
