As poignant and discomforting as ever, Black Mirror delivers another batch of excellent episodes, with one minor exception. But its willingness to ask hard questions makes me all the more willing to search for answers myself. The third season is a welcome return of Brooker's masterful series.

This series has a way of describing just how much horrible our world can be, and it touches some issues that we take for granted like the social media obsession, and it is all brilliantly exposed through some creative writing and directing all blended with a talented cast, even-thought there is always a new subject, it always keeps us somehow hungry for more, just brilliant!

Depressing as **** If you prefer your media to distract you from the bleakness of reality, pick something else. If you don't mind wallowing in abject misery for a few hours, you could do a lot worse than Black Mirror.

Unique and Innovative - Black Mirror Series 3 is intense, provocative and moving. This series once again takes the watcher though 6 uncomfortable chapters that disorientate your perspective, provokes laughter at uneasy situations before plunging you into moments of fear, alarm and anguish. Charlie Brooker is a superstar in the making.

The most interesting thing about this show is how the characters were developed throughout each episode. It's so good that it actually makes everything very believable.

W.O.W. I am blown away by this season. My God. I found the first episode to be the least good, but that isn't saying much, cos it was good. However, the final episode blew my mind. My God. I think it's probably the best story so far in the series. This show just gets better and better. Big kudos to the creators and writers. You're doing God's work.

The first episode has a funny yet terrifying concept and a strong message about the future of social media and how it's slowly taking over our entire lives. I would say it's friendly and the easiest to watch, a strong opener.
The second episode however, I felt was a downgrade from the previous one. The idea was original and captivating, it had a lot of potential, but i just think it could've been better.
The third episode is fascinating. Shocking, fast, suspenful. This episode was incredibly structured and had some amazing acting. It's guaranteed to make you anxious and leaves you in shock long after the credits appear on the screen.
The fourth episode makes an 180 degree turn. It is by far the best episode of the whole series. Don't want to give much away but it's truly captivating, unexpected and mysterious.
The fifth episode definitely feels like a downgrade from the previous one, but it was kind of imposible to follow that anyway. Don't get me wrong, it is original and well developed but the ending could've been much better.
The sixth and final episode is different from anything on this season and it's not even a bad thing.

Netflix's acquisition of Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror allows for genre-hopping. In this case, it works as it allows for more complex ideas to be portrayed while appealing to a mass audience. Furthermore, the sense of discomfort of the realism of the issues faced isn't lost by this new format.

I'm rating this season a 10 because of the episode "Shut up and dance."

It's one of the best episodes of TV I've seen in a long time. Alex Lawther needs to win something for this.

Just as good as previous seasons...now with bigger budget it was nice to see what they have been able to do.Kinda loved that this season felt kind of more happier then previous ones. Nosedive and San Junipero didnt leave me depressed after watching them hehe but then on the other hand Shut up and dance was totally opposite. Lets hope season 4 is as good as this one.

Nosedive: It has arguably the most solid character act of the season, in good part thanks to a powerhouse performance from Bryce Dallas Howard. I also liked how Joe Wright created a futuristic version of 1950s suburbia, which emphasized the phoniness of the characters. The plotting gets a bit contrived in some parts, but everything pays off brilliantly, so it's a minor flaw.

Playtest: Wyatt Russell has the charisma and screen presence necessary to carry the episode, although he tends to overact at times. Unlike other Black Mirror episodes, this one isn't so political in its subject, since it prefers to go for a more intimate angle, which feels rather refreshing.

Shut Up and Dance: Easily my favorite episode of the season. Its premise is fairly straightforward, but it maintains a sense of escalation, paranoia and urgency that never decreases. And the ending recontextualizes the episode in a way that rewards you for going through an hour of emotional draining.

San Junipero: This one requires two viewings for better appreciation, since it can be quite confusing in its first half. It stands out for being the most character-driven episode of the season, if not the entire show. Even though it's not as thrilling as the others, I liked how it buried an incredibly poignant conclusion under a happy setting, making for a striking social commentary.

Men Against Fire: Its establishment of a post-apocalyptic scenario works well since there's always the feeling something wrong is about to happen, and that's its strongest aspect. It's pretty heavy-handed in its message delivery, and considering the military theme, the action scenes leave room for improvement despite some imaginative beats. But considering its social relevance, generally solid visuals and performances (Ariane Labed and Sarah Snook are underused, though), it manages to be a satisfying entry.

Hated in the Nation: The only Black Mirror episode I've disliked. It's basically an entire CSI season crammed into 90 sluggishly paced minutes. You know something is very wrong when a SWAT raid is as exciting as filing taxes. The characters are flat and speak mostly in exposition. And its themes were already explored before and better in The National Anthem and White Bear.

If this is being compared to the same old recycled dramas that get put out on TV then this has to be a 10/10. Lots of great concepts here, And to me, great sci-fi is about great concepts. Executed very well. Highly recommend the whole season. Episode 4 is a highlight for me. Gugu mbatha-raw is super attractive in this episode.

'Black Mirror' is that rare example that a TV show doesn't need to have a full story throughout seasons to be great, magnificent entertainment. And it is actually pretty scary and bold to explore technology not in the colorful way it is being promoted.

Otherwise, I thought episodes like "Shut Up and Dance" were much more in line with episodes from previous seasons, but also seemed to retread ideas the series has already explored.

Overall, I still maintain the show is better off continuing with Netflix than simply not existing anymore. Nonetheless, I do not think this season was anywhere near as thought provoking as the previous seasons and whenever I do go back to the series in the future I fully intend to skip season 3 and stick to seasons 1/2 and the holiday special.

It's hard to describe to someone exactly what Black Mirror is. It's a social commentary, albeit not too judgemental or overly cynical of society, more of a look into what's possible and where things could go in the future. It's a thriller, it's a mystery and it's a drama. Sometimes it's even funny but most of all it deals with the bleakest possible scenarios that may arise in the technological world we are living in.

The only complaint that I can make about this series is that 6 episodes is not enough. I could watch this every day of the year.

As with all anthology series certain episodes will appeal more to different people but overall this was another strong season of Black Mirror. Personally I thought the endings to a couple of the episodes were a little disappointing but all of the episodes offered a good hour of entertaining drama (or dark comedy in one case) and will certainly give audiences pause for thought.

Charlie Brooker is a mastermind at the top of his game and he continues to show this through each and every episode.
