Summary: Tom travels to Venice, California, to help two homeowners fix their sliding closet doors by replacing each of the metal sliders with a thin strip of hardwood he had made from a scrap piece of oak flooring. In the Ask This Old House loft, Tom, Richard, Roger and Kevin examine an unfamiliar object and try to guess how it is used. Then Kevin and preservation specialist Sally Zimmerman use a new software package to help homeowners select historically appropriate exterior paint colors for their Queen Anne Victorian home by showing them what the color would look like on the house before it was painted.
