What's ultimately so refreshing and thrilling about Ash vs. Evil Dead, whose premiere episode is helmed by Raimi, is how charmingly and giddily scrappy it feels, in both narrative and aesthetic, and the zooming, seemingly effortless pace at which Raimi keeps the bloody, widespread mayhem going. The show is mostly useful as a vengeful reverse prank on greedy legions of trick-or-treaters. Make sure your tube is prominently visible as you open the door to the kids, and give them a compulsive need for years of therapy along with their Butterfingers. Read full review

With all the reboots and prequels out there failing at "bringing something refreshing to the franchise" Ash vs Evil Dead does exactly the opposite. It's Ash, he's a moron, he has a shotgun and a chainsaw, and he fights Deadites to right his mistake. It's a fast paced fun for everyone; a crazy-hilarious and nicely produced show. Every 5 minutes or so there will be three words in your mind looking at Bruce Campbell doing his thing...and It's best shouting them while watching: "What the f$·%&·!!!" ... in my TOP 5 this year. Amazing show!

True to the movies that spawned it, Ash vs. Evil Dead is a gory, hilarious, and audacious resurrection of Sam Raimi's beloved horror franchise. It reaally awesome.

Fans have been waiting over two decades for the continuation of the story of the necronomicon and the adventures of the astounding Bruce Campbell. Sam Raimi directs the first episode of the new TV series and it's like he never stopped writing for the Evil Dead.

Great gory fun! If u enjoy camp and lots of spewing blood (not to mention the movies), then this one's completely crazy entertainment. In addition to the violent encounters, the dialogue offers plenty of self-effacing and downright funny lines.

This series is nothing like Evil Dead 1 or 2, and barely has any
semblance to Army of Darkness. The acting, casting choices, and lines
are horrific; the CGI is crude, and the plot-lines are utter nonsense. The writers should have kept with Evil Dead 2's style of humor, and tone, with aThis series is nothing like Evil Dead 1 or 2, and barely has any

The writers should have kept with Evil Dead 2's style of humor, and
tone, with a *pinch* of Army of Darkness thrown in. Instead, they said,
"let's take Army of Darkness and make it 10 times stupider in every
possible way! Adds to the charm, bro! Pass the weed..."

The typical fanboy's response to such criticism is basically to say that
all of the above *somehow* makes this show great. Ludicrous! And do you
know why I know they're full of it? Because if this show had been done
better, it would appeal to more than the fanboys; this show would be
talked about and lauded as much as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, etc.
And, and.. it could have still been "campy". The writers just weren't
good enough to pull it off; or, perhaps they they just didn't have to,
given their target audience's inability to discern the difference.… Expand
