I gave Arrow a 10, not because it's perfect, but because it’s probably as close to a 10 as a show can get. It certainly has its flaws--however, only a few episodes into Season 3 and I can already tell that the show is pretty much the TV show equivalent of Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.

I usually don’t review TV shows so early, because I feel that rating a show based on the pilot isn’t

I usually don’t review TV shows so early, because I feel that rating a show based on the pilot isn’t really fair. I need multiple episodes to determine how good a TV show is (to me). However, I made an exception with Arrow because it’s pretty clear that Arrow is almost always the same: at its best. I don’t want to sound like some fanboy raining praise on a superhero TV show, but this show simply deserves it. The storytelling is strong each episode. The two parallel stories that go on at the same time (past and present) during the episodes are both well-made and intertwine well. The characters are nice and developed on the show (not one dimensional or cliché). The acting is good. The dynamic of “Team Arrow” is nice. Felicity, Diggle, Roy, Oliver, Ray Palmer, etc. are all good characters.

Arrow does have its flaws though. For example, how is it practical at all for Oliver to be constantly facing off against enemies with guns, swords, etc. with just a bow and arrow? Sure, it might work at a distance, but it makes a lot less sense when he and his enemies are face to face. Oliver should have some kind of knife or bo staff with him when he faces certain enemies in close quarters. Also, some scenes where Oliver avoids gunfire causes a bit too much suspension of disbelief. (See season 3 episode “The Secret of Felicity Smoak”, for an example of this. When Felicity and her mom are kidnapped, and machines are shooting bullets at Oliver, none of them come even close to hitting him. Really?) Also, Thea (“Speedy”) and Laurel (Dinah) are IMO the weakest characters on the show.

The good definitely outweighs the bad though, when it comes to Arrow. I honestly think it’s one of the best TV shows I’ve seen, and is probably the best superhero TV show. (Sorry Agents of SHIELD, Constantine, The Flash, and Gotham.)

I have reviewed 32 other movies, including the 2014 films: Dracula Untold, The Maze Runner, The Expendables 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Giver, Sharknado 2, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Edge of Tomorrow, X-Men Days of Future Past, Godzilla, Blended, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Divergent, Transcendence, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, The Lego Movie, and more. I also review TV shows, such as Gotham, The Last Ship, Sleepy Hollow, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, The 100, I Wanna Marry Harry, Crisis, Gang Related, and more. I also have reviewed the mobile game Minecraft Pocket Edition.

    Goodbye! Sincerely, AG732.

This show delivers, delivers, delivers. I got nothing less than a shock in each of the first two episodes. The parallel plotting is still very very consistent. And it is nothing short of amazing.

This just may be the best TV show based on a comic. Let's see!

Almost all his friends knows who Arrow is and that becomes no longer so exciting. But this season is still exciting. I'm curious on Arrow season 4 :) Expand

I actually started watching this show sometime on December 2014 thanks to The Flash, which is the spin-off show that is set in the same universe as Arrow. The first season was a great debut season despite its shaky start. I actually started watching this show sometime on December 2014 thanks to The Flash, which is the spin-off show that is set in the same universe as Arrow. The first season was a great debut season despite its shaky start. However, the second season is when Arrow is at its best with its epic storytelling, great emotional character development and well-executed plot arcs.

(You can read my review of the first season of The Flash here)

The third season has a great first half and it has great ideas on what to do with this season. However, most of them felt poorly executed and the second half of the season has a noticeable drop in quality which is why this season of Arrow is quite disappointing to me.

I still love Felicity however I am very angry at how she was handled this season as the annoying love interest. I don’t mind Felicity stepping out from the comic relief we know and love to a more compelling, emotional character however her being emotional over a romance with Oliver which was shoehorned for the Olicity shippers is what ruined Felicity. I am still praying for the redemption of Felicity.

Speaking of redemption, Laurel and Thea has an interesting and exciting character development as the show gave them more opportunities to be bad-ass. Seeing my favorite character Thea having much to do this season was a celebration to me and seeing her screwed up relationship with his biological father Malcolm Merlyn is intriguing. As for Laurel, I am happy that while she is the Black Canary now, she still has work to do with her being a superhero and that felt natural and realistic.

Another thing I liked about this season was the way the show handled Nyssa. Her dealing with Sarah’s death to her dealing with her father’s **** was really interesting and made me sympathize with her.

As what I said before, this season has a lot of great ideas to tackle in. Like the Nanda Parbat and Ras Al-Khul as the main villian could make this season even more kick-ass than the previous. But this season was poorly executed with its lazy writing and it was overshadowed by the shoehorned romance between Felicity and Oliver.

The flashback scenes from the first two seasons were important plot devices as they were related to the season arcs that time. However, this season’s flashback scenes were not interesting and important to the season and it was more used to introduce the new characters Tatsu and Maseo. I do love those characters but the flashback scenes were shoehorned and not crucial to this season’s arc.

I am hoping for some improvement for the next season of Arrow and I am optimistic that the writers and producers would listen to the criticism they’re getting from this season and try to improve the show with the next season. I am not giving up this show just yet.

As with the other 2 seasons, I am quite impressed with this season. I think Arrow is exciting, interesting, action pack and well there's some fragments of romance.

Although I liked much more of season two , this season it still managed to deliver what should , like the development of the characters , especially Oliver , who had to realize that even he needs help. Now it's wait and see what will happen with this new tone that producers are promising on season 4. Green Arrow maybe??

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This season has divided people believe or not that's usually an intriguing thing it means there is a lot to discuss Season 3 of arrow is incredible i can't name a season of anything I've liked better this is by far the most emotional and character driven season Oliver, Laurel, Felicity, Thea, Lance, Malcom and Roy all have great character arcs we also get more character development from Diggle as well as new comer Ray. These arcs delve deep into the characters showing us sides we've never seen before for better or worse. The action in the season is spectacular and massive in scope make no mistake this is shows largest and most ambition season you alone will have to determine if that is a good thing. Ra's al ghul is the main villain this time around Matt Nable delivers an incredible performance and brings a very different conflict than Slade did forcing Oliver to question his very identity and soul he is every bit as dangerous and without giving away spoilers changes the show forever. The flashbacks are weaker but there is a story behind them and Olivers evolution in particular during them is great to watch. Stephen Amell above all else owns this season delivering his deepest and best performance yet this holds true for most of the other cast the story is not what you would expect and is far more shocking and unpredictable than season 2 and it will do things you don't agree with but all for the purpose of the story being told. The final verdict Arrow season 3 is a truly epic, action packed, emotional and unforgettable season that truly changes the show and it's characters in ways we could never imagine. I give this season a solid A+ and a solid ten out of ten if you haven't scene it go watch it but be open minded and prepare for a game changing storyline for better or worse you decide. Expand

I don't know why everyone hated this season. Sure, season 2 was better but this seasom still did a very good job. The only problem i had was how easily oliver beat ra's.
