May 2, 2018Another throw away season of Archer. Not even going to bother with the rest of the season. Have the writers run out of ideas, certainly jokes. Not even the hint of a smile during ep. 1. Remember when Archer was good?

Jun 4, 2018Dreamland was a pretty cool diversion, but now that Season 9 is using the same plot twist to justify shifting the setting it unfortunately seems to have jumped the shark, which is a real disappointment to have to say.

Aug 25, 2019Still trapped inside the unconscious mind of Sterling Archer season nine finds the cast setting on a 1950’s inspired adventure yarn. Personally I found this to be a more enjoyable season than last year but it still lacks the sharpness the show managed so effortlessly during its peak.

May 1, 2019Yet another "Archer in a coma so this entire thing is a dream" season. There is no real sense of a story early on and by the time things finally pick up, It ends abruptly because it's only 8 episodes long. And it's nowhere near as funny as previous seasons of the show either but right on par with how bad season 8 was.

Sep 2, 2018Oh boy, Danger Island is, well, different. It really, really tries to bring something new and fresh to the series. The trouble is that is feels like a watered down version of what worked on Archer, which is the fresh humour. Overall the worst season in the entire show run.

Jan 11, 2022I understand why this season is not as beloved as the rest of the show but nevertheless I had a great time watching it.

Jan 3, 2022Another throw away season of Archer. Poor use of characters, lack of character development, insultingly weak jokes, and mixed cliches make this unwatchable

It’s impossible to ignore the lack of invention and energy in Danger Island’s storytelling turns.

While the mix of trivia-knowledge riffing and coarse humor still makes for a lively combo, the season also occasionally delves into extremely dark humor that doesn’t always land, including an awkward moment where an interrupted sexual assault is played for laughs.

Archer remains the same terrific spoof it’s always been, even as it shifts from a spy satire to a jokey, adventure homage.
