After 3 episodes I can say that this is such a let down. The jokes are lifeless and incredibly forced. It's almost like the creators want the season to be incredibly forgetful so that it's easier to ensure that there is no chance for a potential one ore season. If the other 5 remaining episodes are as dull as the first 3, then this will be just another show with an awful finale. This seemsAfter 3 episodes I can say that this is such a let down. Season 11 of Archer (WokeWorld) exemplifies the new changes brought about from becoming a wholy owned property of the #EvilestCorporationOnEarth .

It was smart of them to premier two episodes because there was not even a joke in Episode 1 for the first 15:40 minutes. Only one more in the remainder of the episode. Episode 2 does fare a tiny bit better bringing in 4 jokes in 22 minutes but for what was among the funniest shows of the last decade that is absolutely pathetic.

These are not spoilers but Season 11 sees Archer finally waking from prior seasons and entering into this new "woke" world. Hence giving a double meaning as clever as a middle schooler who thinks hes a comedian.

So being in a coma for 3 yea... seasons...the world is not the same one he left and the season is about Archer finding his place back into his group.

Clearly the season is all about Archer going up against woke culture. The problem is being funny by pretending to be an an example of the thing you are lampooning when that thing is already awful is rarely if ever funny. This is a gross example of Disney influence within the show.

Theres ample more signs too. Like the whole ridiculous, overdone intro scene set to overpriced Iron Maiden track license seems "awesome" but is really just bland and pointless and pandering. Just like Disney action sequences.

The plot/characterization is also inexcusable. Yes people grow within 3 years time but this has no logical basis in reality to play out three years later.

Then there is the massive tone down of violence/sex/and unpc like behavior, thus completely missing the source material. Even if it is intentional and part of a spoof, the levels are still WAY below that even when its not being "woke"

Look, I am realistic. Archers last "good" season was probably around Vice with the latter three "dream" seasons being really below their own bar. Season 10 SHOULD have been the finale. Yet the plague rat was deterimined to use a show like Archer as an example of taking the sort of programming Fox was identified for and forcing it to bend the knee and begin the process of "re-ned-ucating" fox programming into DIsney social order of psychological manipulation of its audiences. Shows like Archer are the bridge between the old audiences that would watch things like Married with Children, Simpsons, Titus, That 70s show, House, Sons of Anarchy, Wilfred and yes Archer and keep them around and through gradual attrition let shows like Archer and likely The Orville try to hold the audience till Disney rolls out their new slate of programming that is devoid of what made these shows popular until Fox networks are completely indistinguishable from Disney controlled ABC drek can be phased in their place. Exactly as they did with the acquisition of ABC programming when you saw shows like NYPD Blue and Rosanne were pushed out for cartoons, muppets and bland, inoffensive garbage in just a few short years.

This is exactly what we see with Archer. Basically the decapitated remnants of Fox being served up on a spike outside the magic kingdom at Fox's gates to serve as warning to all.

So Archer never really recovered from the coma. Season 10 was the end and you might as well look at it like he died because what is being portrayed is just the plague rat singing and dancing its same song and dance while wearing the flayed flesh of Sterling Archer. No differently than it enjoys doing with the skin of Deadpool, Darth Vader, Homer Simpson, and countless other tained and ruined properties.

So lets not kid around, yes Archer was already going down hill for years, but this garbage season bears little to no real tangible resemblance and is Archer in name only. Dont expect it to get better because with two episodes already into a eight episode season and the plot and comedy accomplishing nothing interesting, this is by Disney's design to ruin a show with bad ratings so they can justify not renewing it or canceling existing contracts with less blow back. They've done it before. They are doing it again and will continue doing it.

Out of respect for its history and the innocent people being exploited to make this season I will give it a 2 out of 10 and god if that isnt being incredibly generous.

    RIP Archer. 3.19.19.

EDIT: Now that the third episode has aired it is official. There is no spark, no charm, nothing of what made Archer, Archer. Not a single laugh out of 22 minute episode. The show is too busy fixating on emasculating the character to be bothered with trying to add in jokes.

Glad to see it getting back to its roots. This season is the best since season 6 (though 7 was good to) I stoped watching half way through season 8. Its a cartoon I'm just after a laugh don't need complex plot or whatever they were trying to do for the last few seasons. Signed up to metacritic just to leave a 5star review

Having awoken from a coma after three years, Sterling Archer struggles to fit back into his old life having found that his ‘friends’ have been getting along better without him.

The only glaringly negative thing I have to say about this season is that it's short. It's over before you know it and it's such a frustrating thing as I was really getting into this one. Another gripe, at least for me, is that there really isn't an overall plot to this season. It's just a matter of Archer, and his friends, coping with the fact that he's awake. I don't understand the negative reactions. I think that this is better than the last two seasons.

Painfully unfunny, I quit half way through the finale. Sadly, Archer should have stayed in a coma.

Wow oh wow. Being from the UK this season is still not legally anywhere for us to watch. After quite a while looking for the new season i finally found somewhere with HD streaming. Archer is a cartoon which is meant to be funny, it has had a style of humour and inside jokes from the get go. Forget the coma seasons and anyone can see the ridiculous drop in quality. As the main character of the show the fans obviously love Archer, why else would we watch season after season of the same jokes and the same characters? WHY DID YOU CHANGE EVERYTHING. Genuinely terrible from episode 1, the funny character we grew to love no longer exists and the show is not even a shell of what it once was. This series has ruined archer. How can FXX expect us to like this? You ruined everything good about the show. We don't need character development IT IS A CARTOON/ COMEDY YOU IDIOTS. I did not laugh a single time in the last season. I hate what they have done to Archer's character and how he interacts with the others. The dynamic of the characters makes it feel like a different show, none of them are what they once were and it's terrible as a result. WE GET IT IN REAL LIFE AFTER 3 YEARS A LOT CAN CHANGE. BUT THIS IS NOT REAL LIFE YOU MORONS. They had a winning formula: the story line overall was very good; the content of each episode was interesting, funny and developed the story further. After 10 seasons you have already developed characters so why tf have you completely changed them all? None of them even seem like the same person. **** Expand

This latest installment is a return to Archer’s raunchy, ridiculous form and it feels as cozy as crawling into your bed after a long car ride.

Luckily, the signature “Archer” connective joke tissue that melds its disparate plots with bookending conversations is as sharp as ever, too. Archer’s jealousy, Cyril’s struggles to command respect, and Cheryl’s turn-ons should be territory so well-trod that no fertile ground would be left. Yet, there’s enough magic in each passing setup that you get a chance to see these from a new angle.

Archer is back in a way that is – at least on the surface – similar to the early days of the show. But you’ll soon realize just because we’re back in the land of the living doesn’t mean this series is done evolving.
