This show had decent promise in the first episode but it was obvious it was gonna go down the technology vs 'real police work' route. Well turns out it didn't really so far but from ep 2 & 3 its already become a completely generic procedural, just with more technology and no explanation of how a billionaire is directing individual investigations with no experience of police work, and notThis show had decent promise in the first episode but it was obvious it was gonna go down the technology vs 'real police work' route. Well turns out it didn't really so far but from ep 2 & 3 its already become a completely generic procedural, just with more technology and no explanation of how a billionaire is directing individual investigations with no experience of police work, and not spending any time running all the businesses that made him a billionaire. Almost Human was a better attempt at the cops with advanced technology idea than APB is. Expand

The only way it would be watchable is if it was some kind of Robocop deal--and that's a 20th century idea. No, this is just another in a very large pile of not-very-good ideas that got turned into a TV show. Go play with one of your apps instead.

In the early going, APB is as generic as its title, failing to give us characters or stories that feel remotely realistic.

APB never settles its own version of its existential dilemma: man or machine? It argues for both. But as this uninspiring drama proves, sometimes when you split the difference, you end up with nothing.
