The first series was almost OK, although the Anne character can get annoying quickly with all her chattering away and her possible PTSD. It collapsed miserably with the second and third series, which are just a series of lessons in theThe first series was almost OK, although the Anne character can get annoying quickly with all her chattering away and her possible PTSD. It collapsed miserably with the second and third series, which are just a series of lessons in the ultra-politically correct: you get the full load of same-sex relationships glorification; super sad stories of Afro-American discrimination; child abuse; feminist issues etc.. In the last series we get the trousers-wearing, Anne-clone (Miss Stacy) starting a relation with Bash, so we can add inter-racial pairing and of course the Native (Indians?) question, more child abuse and the last two episodes, pushing the flaccid Anne-Gilbert relation beyond contrived. Misunderstandings piling up by the dozen, while Anne always does the right thing shouting it out for everybody to hear. Expand
