What an incredible show, never in my life did I think I could ever get hooked on something like this! This is writing at it's finest, and the characters are something magical, like one of those old Sunday afternoon movies I used to watch many moons ago! This is something for young or old (young at heart) to take pleasure in. The scenery and settings are amazing, you can almost smell the green grass, the forests, and the simple pleasures of days gone by! What a Delight and an absolute Masterpiece this increbile series is, Kudo's to Netflix as they got this one totally right! Some of the reviews are right it does start out a little dark and sinister, but quickly turns into something light, and will put many smiles on your face. In time it will quickly warm your heart, and will put a smile in your heart on those dreary days.… Expand

The first series was almost OK, although the Anne character can get annoying quickly with all her chattering away and her possible PTSD. It collapsed miserably with the second and third series, which are just a series of lessons in the ultra-politically correct: you get the full load ofThe first series was almost OK, although the Anne character can get annoying quickly with all her chattering away and her possible PTSD. It collapsed miserably with the second and third series, which are just a series of lessons in the ultra-politically correct: you get the full load of same-sex relationships glorification; super sad stories of Afro-American discrimination; child abuse; feminist issues etc.. In the last series we get the trousers-wearing, Anne-clone (Miss Stacy) starting a relation with Bash, so we can add inter-racial pairing and of course the Native (Indians?) question, more child abuse and the last two episodes, pushing the flaccid Anne-Gilbert relation beyond contrived. Misunderstandings piling up by the dozen, while Anne always does the right thing shouting it out for everybody to hear.… Expand
