This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Chick-flick style of comedy. I liked it, but I wouldn't expect my husband or kids to sit down with me to watch it. I'm not sure she believes her 'angel', but that's probably going to be part of the premise. Is she and angel or a stalker? Can she be trusted or is she conning me? I'll keep watching for awhile. A much anticipated show that had great premise and the fact that it's début was delayed only heightened expectations. The first episode shows great promise but from there is started to go downhill quite quickly and after just a few episodes, seems to have been pulled. For me, there wasn't enough acidity and sharpness in the writing that could have pulled it along nicely. The humor ranges from bombastic to subtle, with dialogue delivered at an atypically rapid pace. The pilot had a Sorkin-esque feel to it, with witty banter and "blink and you'll miss it" jokes and one-liners.

The series once again attempts to pair the straight-shooter with the oddball muck-up in an attempt to allow both characters to find middle ground. In the process, hilarity ensues. Except when it doesn’t.

Angel From Hell is without a laugh track or any real sense of purpose beyond letting Lynch fire away. Some of her darts can be amusing. And her delivery system remains intact. But even by Episode 2, the premise is wearing thin.
