    Three complete mysteries are contained within the eight-episode season (which is subtitled in English), the second case, with its deep background on Svempa, being the best; the last, which involves a mystery writer’s fictional crimes being played out in reality, is the weakest. ... Has nothing if not a mischievous sense of humor, as well as a good-natured respect for Dame Agatha.

    Too technicolour for Nordic noir and not clever enough for Christie, Hjerson sailed along fine but wasn’t worthy of the top deck. Friday-night fluff, rather than Sunday-night class.

    This is a refreshing new concept to Agatha Christie’s mystery genre.
