This show is far superior to the original in every way because of its inclusiveness. It's hilarious that people are complaining about the show being woke as if that's a bad thing.

9-1-1: Lone Star is my 3rd favorite new TV show of 2020 and one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I loved how they made sure to showcase characters from all different backgrounds so, that no matter who was watching there could be a character they could relate to. The writing was stupendous, I loved how they made sure to write characters from all different backgrounds and characters with all different types of struggles and traumas and I loved how raw and emotional the writing was. The acting was outstanding especially from Liv Tyler, Sierra McClain, Ronen Rubinstein, Jim Parrack, Lyndsy Fonseca, Rob Lowe, Natacha Karam, Brett Rice, Natalie Zea, Brian Michael Smith, and Billy Burke also Barry Corbin's guest role was great. I loved this first season and it was a for sure A+ and I can not wait for next season. Expand

A good show so far! I, as a Texan, have few issues with it, because I have enough common sense to know that people that are not white, cisgendered, hetero, christians exist -- and exist in Texas! (Not to mention, the whole idea of the show is that a man is asked to bring in a diverse group of good firefighters, and he does. The presence of Lowe and Tyler helps offset the silliness that goes on around them.

“Lone Star,” starring Rob Lowe, has more modest ambitions and delivers far less exciting results [than “9-1-1.”]

9-1-1: Lone Star isn’t misbegotten: Its bones, coming as they do from its forerunner series “9-1-1,” are solid, and aspects of its conceit are sweet, if at times so utopian as to defy belief.
