Kane & Lynch: Dead Men could be a great game. Unfortunately it feels unfinished, and falls short of that mark.

As a stand-alone racer, a competent console conversion; maybe a bit repetitive in the long run, but still a fair effort from EA.

The racing is balanced and never dull, and the only downside is that the fun is over far too soon.

Strange game. Technologically impressive and initially very fun, but feels overly dumbed down for the casual audience and suffers from poor gameplay balance. Manages to entertain for a while, but lacks substance and depth to keep you interested in the long term.

Mask of the Betrayer is a great epic level fantasy role playing campaign, based on aging and limited technology, with two glaring flaws: a dysfunctional multiplayer mode and a very high barrier of entry. That said, if you finished Neverwinter Nights 2, this expansion is definitely worth getting.

Visually impressive and ambitious but ultimately falls short of the hype. Attempts very hard to immerse you in a realistic sandbox world but fails to be anything but a simple, repetitive shooter. Driving across beautiful but lifeless world while fighting infinitely respawning enemies to complete unimaginative missions for people who all try to kill you can be summed up as beautiful but disappointing.

Age of Conan might turn out to be a fair game at some future date, but we can't score a game based on future promises. As it stands now, it's incomplete, rushed and buggy, with major game systems utterly broken. Recommended only for exploit hunters and MMO fanatics that enjoy waiting for that next patch - the one that will "fix everything" - even when it never does.

If you can cope with the game's shortcomings, then this title can offer hundreds of hours of intense gaming.

On its own merits, Opposing Fronts is a worthy expansion to Company of Heroes. DirectX 10 shenanigans and a surprising lack of finish make the whole package less than we were promised, and had the right to expect.

Not a complete disaster, but lacks in scope and ambition, and fails to keep the interest up as the quality of available content falls as you level up, and the high end game is just promises at this point - while the newbie experience is fine, the "meat" of the game that would keep you playing for months seems to be still under development.

Innovative and fun, yet has plenty of depth even for older gamers.

Ultimately, there's just not enough of a game here for most players. Rail enthusiasts, with the time and patience to tinker with the editor, will adore it; everyone else are likely to be bored with minutes.

A disappointment. Unfinished, unpolished, monotonous and offering poor value for money with the subscription scheme. Yet it kind of grows on you over time.

Ironically, the story is better-suited to a summer Hollywood horror flick, and it falls flat as a premise for driving action in a video game. With a number of great releases on the horizon, there's no reason to let this aberration anywhere near your hard drive.

To its credit, Two Worlds dares to be less conventional than Oblivion, but it's not nearly as polished in any regard. The unbalanced difficulty makes for a frustrating first few hours, and there's little incentive to return to the game after completing the main story line.

Rise of the Argonauts may be based on some ambitious ideas, but the implementation is terribly uneven and filled with obvious corner-cutting. The "action" and "RPG" elements are both weak and what little gameplay there is feels flat and uninteresting. PC conversion is a rush job with little effort to cater for the platform.

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate is a half-assed second sequel that fails to live up to the original's good name. It doesn't try to introduce anything new to the plot or design of the game, and contents itself to copying the classic in an uninspired manner.

End result is a rushed and buggy software toy.

Alone In The Dark truly horrifies me. How can such a big-budget title actually get to the stores with such unfriendly controls and gameplay glitches? The game is clumsy, completely linear and absolutely no fun to play.

In a year of excellent RTS titles, Empire Earth 3 has nothing to offer. In an effort to garner mass appeal, the game has been dumbed down to the point of irrelevancy.
