    Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2
    Even though there are only 5 missions, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 does a wonderful job highlighting the actual mechanics of what it takes to be a sniper when it comes to planning your shots. Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2 takes a lot of what was fantastic of the original game and improves upon it in many ways. A graphically beautiful sandbox game that blends strategy and gameplay into an incredible tactical experience and a realistic firing mechanism that immerses you into a real-world situation. This game does have its faults and shortcomings, and yes, sadly it has a lot of them, but that didn't stop Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2 from finding the target even if it wasn't a bullseye.

    Clone Drone in the Danger Zone
    While graphics in games like this don’t generally matter, the voxel aesthetic works for its premise and silliness, but the real standout is the commentary by the announcers. Seriously, more than a few times I laughed out loud and the hilarity never got old. Unless you care about the online Last Bot Standing mode I’d question its longevity and the $26.99 CAD asking price. That said, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone will make you laugh on a number of occasions and can be fun to simply jump in for a few matches here and there.

    Within the Blade
    The ‘floaty’ combat still caused me to make mistakes hours in and I had plenty of unfair deaths causing level checkpoint restarts. While I wasn’t a fan of the indoor level design, the boss stages made the effort of suffering through them worth it in the end, as did eventually unlocking and upgrading enough abilities to feel like an unstoppable ninja by the time the credits rolled and starting New Game+.

    Fishing: North Atlantic
    Overall, I had a lot of trouble learning to play Fishing: North Atlantic early on, but I still had a lot of fun being out on the water and catching fish. I was pretty excited to give this game a try and do the review because I really enjoy going fishing in real life. I primarily go lake fishing though, so this was a whole new and completely different experience for me, and I did feel like I really was there fishing on the boat at times. Even my wife started to get seasick while sitting on the couch and watching me play. Commercial fisherman will no doubt find enjoyment in the simulator aspect, a niche genre for a specific audience.

    Operation: Tango
    While it lasts, Operation: Tango is great fun. The puzzles are engaging and never too simple to solve, but they are also not so difficult as to become frustrating. Operation: Tango forces players to find new ways of communicating, often leading to funny outbursts and miscommunications. Operation: Tango is clever, well-designed and engaging. It has a good mix of silly puzzles and those that require more thought. Although short and not all that replayable, it’s well worth a play through with a friend who has patience and a keen eye for detail. Fans of co-op puzzlers should consider trying their hand at this game.

    Death's Door
    Death’s Door is everything I love about gaming, and during my 15 hours or so with the game I struggled to find anything about it that I did not like. It has fantastic combat, great characters, an interesting story and the best level design that I have encountered in years. The small team at Acid Nerve has created an absolute must play, and Death’s Door tops my list of game of the year contenders in a year with some heavy hitters coming.

    The Forgotten City
    The Forgotten City may have started out as a simple mod, but the small team at Modern Storyteller has taken the time and effort to craft it into its own memorable experience, one that I’m glad to have had and implore you to as well if any of the above has piqued your interest. Well worth the price of admission, The Forgotten City will leave a lasting impression once final revelations are revealed, just always keep in mind the Golden Rule.

    Imagine Earth
    Every now and then you need a game that allows you to chill on the couch and just simply relax. Imagine Earth fits that bill perfectly. Being simple enough for anyone to jump in and start playing, but also deep enough for those that want to micromanage nearly every aspect of their colony, Imagine Earth is an entertaining colony management game that also focuses on its ecosystem and sustainability.

    Mythic Ocean
    Ultimately the story doesn’t make the most sense, especially with the substantial shift I had at the end, but that didn’t affect my enjoyment of the game overall. It was beautiful and complex. Silly characters and a surprisingly deep and thought-provoking story kept me wanting to see how it would play out. With this being Paralune’s first game, I was completely blown out of the water with their work. They found a way to balance a mechanically simple game and an emotional story very well. I look forward to my next adventure with them.

    Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection
    Everyone should be encouraged to play Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection at the difficulty they would get the most enjoyment out of the game, as that is the whole purpose of games; to have fun! As you could probably tell I quite enjoyed this new revamped version of Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to hit up some nostalgia or is looking for a challenge, even with unlimited lives.

    Worms Rumble
    I’m trying my hardest to not be a Worms elitist, as I’m sure Worms Rumble will find its audience and fans, but for a longtime Worm fanatic like myself, I’m not sure how much longevity it has for someone that isn’t into Battle Royales. The best part though is that Worms Rumble is on Game Pass for Xbox and PC, so there’s no reason to not check it out regardless if you’re a Worms or Battle Royale fan to decide for yourself.

    Crash Drive 3
    Crash Drive 3 turned out to be so much more fun than I initially anticipated, full of laughs and the good kind of swearing at friends when they overtake your score or steal your tags in a stunt event! I can fully recommend Crash Drive 3 if you are looking for a chill game with an edge of competition and an open world exploration that doesn't force you to partake in every challenge, but I had a lot of fun trying to win each time I did.

    Curved Space
    I always enjoy when a twin-stick shmup tries to do something different, and while Curved Space is unique in some of its design choices and is a completely competent entry into the genre, the runs can be quite lengthy and monotonous as you’re simply redoing the same objectives on each stage before repeating it all over again. Those that enjoy climbing leaderboards will have near endless replayability while others may simply enjoy staring into the void of Curved Space.

    Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance
    I can’t give a full recommendation if you plan on playing solo, but with a few friends Dark Alliance is a much richer and better experience, even with its current shortcomings. D&D fans should have enough here that will appease while casuals can still enjoy an entertaining dungeon crawler with some buddies, a perfect fit to try out with Game Pass as long as your group can agree which characters to play as beforehand.

    MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries
    Yes, the graphics aren't up to par, the AI is bad, the port at times tells you to input PC commands and there's so little combat that the game turns into a managing resources simulator. Regardless of all this, Piranha Games delivers an enjoyable single player mech experience that will keep you playing for many months to come. If you're a fan of mech games, then this should definitely be on your radar.

    Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!
    There are very few games that stick with me after the credits roll, and even days later, I’m still thinking about DDLC+. While some of the content and imagery may be difficult to take in for some, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is truly something unique. I had no idea what to expect and got something twisted far beyond anything I would have even guessed. It won’t get out of my head. Welcome to the club and remember, Just Monika.

    Arkan: The dog adventurer
    Some sort of online leaderboard or other scoring system would help Arakan have some longevity, though as it is, you're not likely to play much after you've collected all the stars and challenged yourself to every level. Truth be told, I initially thought Arakan: The dog adventurer was a mobile port brought to Xbox, but for a game that’s priced at about $5, it’s hard to complain for some simple pick up and play brick breaker action, even if its concept is a little far-fetched.

    Empire of Angels IV
    When I first looked at Empire of Angels IV I was worried about how the translations would work out from Mandarin to English but once I started playing it was very well put together and easy to follow the story. With so many characters available once you have them, pets to summon and roles to choose from, Empire of Angels IV has the ability for you to play for many hours depending on how much time you want to sink into it. So, if you enjoy classic style turn-based RPG with beautiful graphics and sound that matches, I suggest you get check out Empire of Angels IV because it is a lot of strategic fun!

    Train Station Renovation
    Overall, Train Station Renovation didn't blow my mind nor did it exceed my predictions, it simply met my expectations at par. I enjoyed my time with Train Station Renovation but I have a feeling I won't be returning anytime soon to renovate again unfortunately. I think I'll just take the train home from here.

    Chivalry 2
    There’s a fine balance of arcade-like gameplay that allows anyone to simply jump in and swing a massive halberd around to get some kills, but also a deep enough combat system that allows for refined and purposeful attacks that rewards your skill after hours of practice. While it’s a grind to unlock all of the subclasses and gear, it never become a frustrating chore, as I’m always happy to jump into one more battle to add a few more heads to my glorious collection.

    Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid - Super Edition
    If you are a really big fan of the Power Rangers (from any version or era) and want to feel nostalgic then go ahead and download Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid from Xbox Game Pass for free. If you are a major fan and want the extra characters and the coolest skins, then go ahead and get the Super Edition, but for me I do not think this would have been something I would have bought on my own as the cost for me does not equal out to the value since I'm not the biggest Power Rangers fan out there. I have had a lot of fun with the game and my friend online, but aside from that I would still likely choose Street fighter or Mortal Kombat for its mechanics if given the choice.

    Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground
    There’s some roughness around its edges and it does frustrate in certain aspects, but Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground does do a good job at being accessible for newcomers to the strategy genre while adding tons of replayability, as long as you enjoy the roguelike grind that follows. While it feels priced a little high, the value is there if you’re willing to sink the hours into the lengthy and challenging campaign.

    Bunny Factory
    Bunny Factory was a pleasant surprise and a real step up in quality from DillyFrame’s previous game. I found the puzzles were fun, logical and variations on the core mechanics in the game kept me engaged enough to work my way though more levels than I intended to in each session. The game could have used a tutorial to ease players in and explain what to do but after a few minutes with each new mechanic, pieces started to click and fall into place. Other than the absence of the tutorial and rather annoying walking back and forth in the factory, there weren’t many other faults to the game. If you’re in the market for a straightforward puzzler, this will likely fit the bill.

    REKT! High Octane Stunts
    It’s hard to complain for a simplistic and entertaining game that’s only priced at $6 USD. REKT! High Octane Stunts is a blast in short bursts but probably won’t have much longevity. When you finally land that full run combo and see your Gamertag appear on top of the leaderboards it’s exciting but, prepare to get REKT countless times.

    King of Seas
    The ship battles were quite exciting and got me going and really into the adventure of being a pirate on the open seas. King of Seas can be a lot of fun if you give it the time to understand what you need to do and start to customize your ship. So if you like customizable RPG style games I absolutely recommend King of Seas for you.

    Rust: Console Edition
    If you’re really into this type of hardcore survival game and can get over the dated graphics, controls and overall feel and this was the only game you wanted to play everyday, 7 days a week for 8 hours a day, then I can honestly see you really enjoying Rust: Console Edition. If that doesn’t appeal to you then this might be a hard pass otherwise.

    Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl
    While the challenge may be a little too steep for some, gamers from my era should know exactly what to expect. It by no means does anything new with the genre or gameplay but was an entertaining yet frustrating few hours of nostalgia gameplay I mostly enjoyed aside from the final two levels. It's a good thing I’m the perfect demographic for Jay and Silent Bob – Mall Brawl; an 80’s NES kid that loves Kevin Smith movies. Snoochie Boochies.

    Dragon Quest Builders 2
    Block building mixed with RPG and survival elements and even farming works quite well within the Dragon Quest backdrop. Slimes and traditional enemies are fitting for a cute aesthetic like this and I kept wanting to progress further to see what new items I could craft and build with. Able to focus on any aspect you desire, DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS 2 is a great blend of genres and may surprise you with how expansive its world actually is.

    Biomutant
    It’s been quite a while where I’ve been at my paying job simply waiting to come home so I could dive right back into a game; Biomutant did that for me. Even after completing the game I started up NG+ right away and continued on my journey with the same excitement. For such a small team, all of their hard work has paid off, as Biomutant is easily my top contender for Game of the Year at this point.
