iStunt 2 is a fun casual arcade platforming trial game featuring wacky physics, and some mad air. The levels are generally well constructed, and I want to have more of them right now.

The unlocked levels don't add any challenge, but just another 30 minutes of the same easy vacuuming. Poor presentation, lack of achievements, and an overall rushed impression makes it hard to recommend paying for Planet Work.

Might be limited to a single game mode, but it comes packed with excellent gameplay worthy of that one more go over and over again. Definitely recommended for the hardcore gamer looking for a casual game.

This level editor, combined with the ability to share and download user generated levels, gives iBlast Moki near unlimited replay value.

I'm not sure the game will appeal to the newer generation of high demand gamers with it's 8-Bit graphics, and awfully repetitive soundtrack, coupled with little improvement over the original.

Food Processing is a fun little game demanding quick reactions, decisions and precision. It is a fun distraction, but the more you play the more it seems to lack.

The high presentation of Liqua Pop is the icing on the cake to a simple and fun puzzler with great controls and an original take on a classic formula.

An equally fun, as frustrating puzzle platformer.

A mixed bag. On the one hand you have a classic style, 16bit brawler with everything you loved from back in the day. And on the other, a classic style, 16bit brawler with many of the problems that are as frustrating as they were back then, with the added problems of iOS virtual controls. Having said that, if you like retro brawlers, then you'll probably want to check this out despite its flaws.

The slow pace of the game limits the appeal of an otherwise well presented game.

The only real complaint I have is the story. Through the "story" you are suppose to save the robots from their own planet (which is actually why you connect them through their sockets, so they can share energy) but sometimes the story itself got in the way of the flow of the game. It was a nice touch, but at times it seemed a little bit annoying.

Instead of being a clone it brings a completely unique gameplay formula to the App Store, and it is a fun one at that. If you are into match three games or barricade defence games this title comes highly recommended.

A pretty neat physics collection of canned mini-games. The graphics are pretty beautiful and the physics effects are definitely the highlight. The only negative thing about it is the lack of variety.

It's one of those games that has the addictive factor that keeps you going back to it again and again for more, coupled with perfectly fitting visuals I find it hard to fault this game.

While Speed Forge Extreme really is the best of the bunch so far, it still has a ways to go before it can reach the platforms full potential of the genre.

Fleeced! – Shear Terror is a hard game to rate due to the fact that it has two faces. The single player turns stale quickly, and the tilt control annoys quite a bit. In a hectic match versus a human the controls aren't as disturbing.

At a buck it is worth getting Big Bad Flower for the cool controls, and I hope to see more innovations from this fresh developer.

Hit n'Run is a fun game that nails the important controls and sense of speed. A lack of game modes makes it less interesting to go back to.

Perhaps only a real joystick can work for this kind of game, but I'd like to think Capcom can at least give it another look, and fix or tweak the controls in an update.

A great little casual space flyer with loads of levels. The presentation lets it down, and the substandard sound effects are annoying. I can still recommend the game to anyone looking for a challenging little game offering great game time for a dollar.

The best boxing game so far in my opinion. It might not be as fully featured as some of the competition, but as the old saying goes, it's 'quality not quantity' that matters. And with both great presentation and gesture controls this is the closest you'll get to big boy console boxing.

I expected much more from the iPad Sam & Max than I got.

I found The Saboteur to be a total fail of a game. Linear scripted levels with non-existent AI soldiers you wage unskilled battles against using unresponsive controls.

Rogue Planet is a quality game with stellar production values thanks to the talented French Agharta Studio, solid gameplay and an involving story. The weak AI, linear maps and somewhat clunky controls draw the overall impression down.

But the lack of a consistent style really hurts it and stopped me as a player becoming immersed and caring at all for the story and characters.

It sounds great, looks great and plays great. The lack of control customisation is a sore point, but much like any accelerometer game, practice makes perfect, and it's all part of the challenge.

Iffy controls, shallow player development, broken putting and a lack of soul bring it soaring from the skies straight into a bunker.

As much as I love Rayman 2, I feel that the 2D Rayman adventures would have been better suited to iPhone and iPod Touch, in the same way that New Super Mario Brothers is a better fit on DS.

Ravensword is the funnest RPG I have played on the iPhone, the graphics are great, and the story is as interesting as it is hilarious, you will have a good time playing this game.

It taps into the brain, and pours in happiness straight into the otherwise grey and dull cortex. A truly un-missable budget title!

It has a quality to it, be it the great soundtrack, great graphics (for the time) and challenging gameplay, that keeps you coming back for more.

Qbism is a well made, and really clever puzzle using the third dimension as wow-factor.

A hard game to rate. The gameplay in the match three section is excellent, and you can play it for ages. Sadly the quest mode is not that good, and it soon started grating on me.

Although Puzzle Cosmos might seem like a really cool game it suffers somewhat from being forgettable.

Ultimately, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within plays very well on iPhone, it looks great and, despite some instances, controls great too. The main issue I have with it though, is its console heritage, especially the save system.

Predators lacks compelling story, structure and mechanics.

Pool Pro Online 3 then is really for multiplayer junkies only. The game does have a solid single player experience, and it is advised you check it out for a bit of practice before hitting online, but without a career mode and other options, it falls short of other single player pool games on the AppStore.

This is a freaking full-on mobile MMORPG! It's a lot of fun to play, especially with friends; and to me, that's more important than having every feature under the sun.

A very unforgiving platformer. This is the reason I didn't finish the game, which is rare for me when I write reviews.

In the end, the game is definitely fun but however it's presented, it can't hide the fact that in essence it's just another Angry Birds clone.

Sure, gameplay may not provide the most innovative or exciting experience, and the race design and units leave something to be desired, but it's the most solid RTS game I've played on my iPhone, and one that's actually fun to play online!

I am extremely happy with how well the game has been treated in its transfer to iOS. The control scheme is simple, but perfect for the touch screen.

It's a game that's easy to play in short sessions, and will no doubt challenge even the most brainy puzzle-platforming fans.

To be honest, with a full story mode and an extra quickplay mode or two, Pix'n Love would be well worthy of a premium price, and is the kind of game I love to show off to my friends. Right now, it's definitely a must-have for any device, and will leave an 8-bit smile on your face.

It's another great football game for iPhone and iPod Touch. If, like me, you prefer the simpler controls, then PES 2010 might be for you, but you may want to weigh up the pros and cons of the other offerings out there.

To me Parcel Panic is the best racing game of 2009 beating all other wheeled competition over the head with basic arcade fun. Highly recommended, and a definite Editor's Choice from me.

It's close but no cigar when compared to the 5 star Space Invaders Infinity Gene. PMCE looks, sounds and plays fantastically… but, had it included online leader-boards and multiplayer, it could have been contender for best Arcade game on the AppStore.

Great graphics, audio and gamelife paired with workable controls make for a great experience not to be missed.

For fans of the original who have the need for a pocketable version to have with them at all times, it's great. But for everyone else it might just come across as a "So what game" and not the historical masterpiece it is meant to be.

Dark Shrine offers many hours of hack n slash linear action. It is not a role-playing game, but rather a quite limited brawler with the odd RPG element.

However, at higher difficulties the game becomes much more edgy.

Chromixa is a great game, and took me by total surprise. It looks simple when you have just slaughtered your way trough a couple of levels of Nova or raced like a drunken delivery guy in Parcel Panic.

Chop Chop Ninja is a cool action platformer with cute and bright presentation, innovative touch controls mixed with a bit too easy difficulty and a short story mode. It is definitely interesting to pick up for the controls alone in my opinion.

The best action shooter I have ever played on any system anywhere. Nuff said, go get it now!

Presentation is lacklustre, the game lacks commentaries, official entries and songs, and most of all it lacks flair. Once mastered it will get boring right away, but up to that point it is really fun.

The music, and sound effects are all really good with a happy upbeat feel to them. You can play your own music as well.

If you are looking for a polished hidden object game you can't go wrong with Where's Waldo? The Fantastic Journey.

If you love GTA, Crackdown and the classic 16bit top down gunship titles like Jungle Strike and Urban Strike… you'll love this.

A great pick up and play action shooter. It is really intense, and it takes a lot of focus to get anywhere fast.

I can only recommend then that if you want style and substance, you should look to Gamevil's other stylish RPG - Hybrid - instead.

The price though is the main killer issue here. You just don't get enough nag for your buck, and in a crowded AppStore that's a big problem.

Overall the solid control scheme and great graphics don't hide the fact that once you have unlocked all the weapons and slain countless numbers of the same old zombies, you will lose interest after an hour or so.

Despite it's short nature, Tumbledrop is challenging, charming, and above all fun. Despite being a higher price than I expected for this kind of game (£1.99 as apposed to $0.99), it's worth picking up.

The game's art is fantastic and a highlight of the game, as are the simple accelerometer controls.

In the end Trenches proves that war can be fun, and since mankind thinks that it deserves all the wars it gets. Logic, got to love it.

Transformers G1: Awakening is a quality title paying homage to one of the coolest animated series from my youth. Highlights are the graphics, the camp story and the music.

Train Conductor 2: USA is another prime example of a game that has benefited greatly from a long development period with fine attention to detail.

Touch Racing Nitro could be a great game as it has got great presentation, music and content. Sadly it only offers a quite gimmicky control method, and it needs some more standard way to steer as an option.

I really like time management games for my iOS devices, but Soap Opera Dash leaves me dissatisfied. Too easy for the most part, and even without the upgrades between levels perfect scores can be met.

The gameplay really is something worth checking out. Early on it's a little slow going as you learn the different ways of utilising the chicks, but soon things get frantic, genuinely challenging and the game quickly becomes hard to put down.

A fast paced action shooter which fulfils a need for fans of classics such as Afterburner. It's not going to blow you away with originality, and there are a few flaws that may put you off. But, the intense action and rocking soundtrack can be an addictive formula, if you've got the skills!

The controls take some time getting used to, and some aspects could be improved such as own music support. Online functionality would be cool, but there is still weeks of gameplay without it if you want to find all the hidden tapes, and get gold on the three competitions. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is a fun and challenging game that keeps evolving as you develop your skater and skills.

Tomena Sanner is a hilarious game that I wouldn't want to have missed out on playing. Once the levels have been beaten once there isn't that much content there to make me want to play it again.

I was driven to madness by a helicopter on the second to last level, but for the most part the game is not all so difficult. Gamers that want a decent 6 hour adventure should consider Conviction.

I can recommend H.A.W.X. though to anyone looking for a rewarding flight game with 26 real aircraft, and to all those who want to experience the console hit for a fraction of the price. Gameloft is really getting better, and better with each release.

It gives "Where's Waldo" a whole new meaning and although it is nothing new when it comes to that aspect of gameplay, this kinds of games never get old.

It improves on the first game, but not enough to warrant the high price.

This game is getting a game of the year recommendation from me, as it's a great game. Right now the only thing stopping it from getting five stars is the lack of intuitive help screen and only one game mode.

A great game, full of peaceful and yet cool music.

Texting of the Bread is a cool concept based on a even cooler idea. It works quite well for the iPhone, but I doubt that I get better at texting personally.

If you want a fun rogue experience I can fully recommend Sword of Fargoal. It is polished, has loads of gamelife and you can win $500 if you manage to be the first to actually find the Sword of Fargoal giving quite a lot of incentive to find it.

But the real reason to buy the game is for the local multiplayer of both the main game's levels (through racing) and the previously mentioned mini games.

The brilliant presentation, and music alone can be enough to warrant a great time for a lot of people. It is a good game, and with updates I think it will turn into a great game.

Street Fighter 4 is a must buy. Plain and simple. It offers everything a Street Fighter fan could want and more. With stunning visuals, sound, multiplayer, and the best d-pad/button controls I have seen, SF4 is worth every penny of its $10 price tag.

Stoneship can be recommended if you are looking for a light-hearted, polished strategy game that can be quite fun.

Although there is a great variety of levels, and the idea behind the game sounds like fun, Steve Young Football still falls pretty short on the whole fun aspect.

Cows vs Aliens is a fun little casual game that can drag you in like a hurricane. It does however lack content, and the one game mode available is not enough.

While Volcano Escape is nothing original, its level of polish makes it a standout amongst the competition.

Despite some of the minor flaws in graphics and difficulty, the game is fun, thanks in huge part to the great control scheme. With a little more spit and polish this game could be a great budget shooter.

If you want quick, high energy and high scoring action on a shoestring budget, then this is the game for you.

To me this is a re-imagining of the arcade classic… and for that it does a great job, perfectly replicating the sound and action of that closing act. However, with it's relatively high price point, and when compared to other fly and gun games like Above and Beyond and Top Gun, it doesn't really stand up from a value and content standpoint.

The comical cantina renditions of classic Star Wars tunes, hilariously animated bar brawls and quick paced gameplay makes it one of the most enjoyable time management games I have ever played.

There are too many well made tower defence games on the App Store featuring the most important thing, gameplay, for Battle for Hoth to be even close to worth getting. If you are a fan of Star Wars try the lite version. If you are a fan of strategic tower defence games don't try the lite version.

It borrows too heavily from films and similar games of the genre resulting in a hodgepodge of a storyline. Another 'attack of the clones' if you will!

No matter which device you prefer Spirits is an excellent game.

Spirit is a budget gem you don't want to miss.

For casual fans, this is still a great action brawler but keep in mind that it can get a little bit repetitive after a little while, despite the many characters and environments available. However, it is certainly the best superhero game out there right now for the iPhone.

I have had a blast with Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, and I really want to play the next episode right away.
