If I don't sound particularly excited by Glorious Savior, well, it's because I'm not. It's a serviceable RPG with a good sense of humor, contentedly treading water on the line of mediocrity.

If I was more aware of the missing content this review may have been a bit easier to swallow. But expectations are everything, and if Breach & Clear expected what little it gave us to be OK for now… it expected wrongly. Sadly, though, some of us also expected the wrong thing.

While I did enjoy Say What?!, it's a game of limited appeal and limited content.

I feel like all of the pieces of an interesting, fun game are laying around here somewhere, but they just never really come together the way they should, leaving the adventure lacking as a whole.

It's a charming "feel-good" game and an interesting experience, almost like visiting a game museum. However, it's also extremely basic and repetitive game-play which may not hold your attention for long once the initial novelty wears off.

It should be clear this is a game with a concentration is on the multiplayer dynamic. Where other games might add it in, or worry about it in updates, S.U.B. is preoccupied with the idea that a submarine game can be fun for multiple people at once.

You could do a whole lot worse than Realm Grinder when it comes to picking up a time waster, but the developers could do a lot better in turn. With some tweaks, it could be one of the more compelling clickers on the market.

For fans of Tony Stark and his universe, Iron Man 3 is definitely a fun adventure. For those who care nothing whatsoever for comics or the Iron Man universe, it’s still fun as an endless runner. It doesn't feel as finished as other Gameloft games, but time may change that. But be prepared to either spend lots of your time, or your money, to get the most out of Iron Man 3.

Double Dragon 4 isn't terrible, but it's not very good, either. For better or worse, it feels like something the Double Dragon team would have cooked up in the early 1990s if they were making a NES-exclusive sequel. In doing that, it not only ignores the significant common-sense improvements the genre has made over the last twenty-five years, but also the very same advances its contemporary competition brought to the fore in the 16-bit era. I'm glad Kishimoto and company got a chance to revisit Double Dragon, but the result in many ways answers the question of how the series lost its shine to begin with.

Melon Journey has charm to burn, with interesting, odd characters to interact with and a well-realized setting to explore. The writing is sharp and the soundtrack is great, both of which help draw you into the story. The actual plot leaves a bit to be desired, and it really doesn’t do enough to bring players new to the world up to speed. Normally I would find myself recommending it anyway, but at the time of this review the game is incredibly crash-happy. There’s something worth experiencing here, but you’ll want to wait for a few updates before diving in because at the moment it’s really hard to deal with.

Trism II is a bit harder to recommend, but if you’re among the many ultra old school iOS gamers still lurking around TouchArcade, it’s worth checking out just for the nostalgia blast and the sheer curiosity of playing a sequel to an iPhone classic that has been ten years in the making.

The main plot is interesting and the characters seem to have had a lot of effort put into them, but the English text could really use a few more editing passes. Ultimately, I think it's best taken as an extension of the original game, but I think I'd rather just play that instead.

At this point you're better off just playing the incredibly similar yet superior Leap Day [Free]. It has all of the same fixins like watching videos to continue and incremental rewards, but just about everything else is more enjoyable. With some tweaking Magic Mansion could get there, especially with its adorable designs, but it's not there yet.

Although it has its flaws, it still offers a huge world to explore and plenty of solid (if not terribly innovative) gameplay.

So while I'm not a fan of this particular mixture, perhaps there's a way to make a town-building game that incorporates creative sandbox elements. But Supernauts just doesn't have the right formula.

With so many great JRPGs on the Switch, it’s hard to recommend middling fare like this. I could understand if the price was more competitive, but as is I feel like you wouldn’t have to look too far or spend much more to find something more interesting on the eShop. That said, if you’re looking to try a KEMCO game or just want an RPG that isn’t going to make you think too much, there are worse things to buy.

World’s End Club is an odd thing. It feels like it’s trying to tell a more family-friendly version of the now-common Death Game tale, but in doing so a lot of the tension and fascinating character work is tossed to the side. I like a good twist in a game, but most of the ones in this game just feel like they came out of nowhere. The platforming bits are somewhere between atrocious and irritating. It’s not without its merits, but if you aren’t completely opposed to playing the game on Apple Arcade that is probably the wisest course of action.

The enemy variety just doesn’t create a lot of interesting scenarios, and all the quirky arena layouts don’t do a lot towards that end either. The more I played, the less I wanted to. Still, there is some fun to be had here if you explore all of the modes and can forgive how similar every session feels.

There are plenty of shooters to spend your time on, and although Tofu Hunter is a welcome free distraction for an afternoon, I wouldn't recommend giving it more time than that.

As far as how it actually plays, Exitium: Saviors of Vardonia doesn't offer a whole lot of new ideas, but it does offer an interweaving story that begs for the game to be played four times and enough quests to keep you busy for a long time.

But if you enjoyed Rayman back in the day, this is a solid port of the game that you can take anywhere. And if your reflexes aren't what they once were 22 years ago, well, you'll praise the Easy mode as you rediscover just how brutal Rayman was.

Even though SlotZ Racer 2 HD can be considered more of the same, it's still an enjoyable virtual slot car racer. For those that didn't have the pleasure of playing the original SlotZ Racer, this sequel is well worth checking out. For others already familiar to the scene, SlotZ Racer 2 might not offer enough new features to warrant investment. Fortunately, considering SlotZ Racer 2 HD is available for free, you can at least check it out before making a decision.

I think Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes does a good job of carrying out its goal of giving Suikoden fans a new game with a similar sort of appeal. There are some pacing issues here, and its commitment to the bit means those without the necessary nostalgia might feel a little annoyed at times, but overall this is an enjoyable RPG that hits some notes these ears of mine haven’t heard in a while. Unfortunately, this Switch version suffers from too many technical issues to recommend with any real vigor. Play this game, but I wouldn’t play it here unless you really have no other option.

OzDefence could have been a joyous romp through the land of Oz. But the leveling system and difficulty needs to be rebalanced and overhauled to better suit the game and its 100-plus levels.

Like Andro Dunos 2 earlier this year, Ganryu 2 is a faithful sequel to a game that few ever expected to get a sequel to. In terms of gameplay, it goes well beyond the relatively humble design of the original, resulting in a title that fans of Shinobi and Strider will almost certainly take an interest in. It’s unfortunate, then, that even after at least one patch dedicated to addressing issues, this Switch version of Ganryu 2 has a number of problems that interfere with the gameplay. I’d love to give this a strong recommendation on the basis of the solid game behind the wonky performance, but I really can’t muster more than a weak nudge.

I would have loved to see some kind of variation either from randomization of the different verses, or something that prevents you from just memorizing everything. Regardless, this is an extremely cute game that will be easily enjoyed by anyone who likes the quirky side of the App Store.

Qualia is a visual novel that can’t seem to settle on what it wants to be. A sweet little romance with a quirky premise? A piece of science fiction? An excuse for lewd scenes that have been cut from this version? At times it is all of these things, but it fails to nail down any of them to the degree that I would have preferred. It’s not entirely without its charms, but Qualia ultimately doesn’t live up to its potential in any regard.

While I’m happy that this remake turned out better than expected and there is now an easily accessible way to play Snow Bros., Snow Bros. Special feels like it’s caught between the couch cushions of a straightforward re-issue and a full-blown revival. It’s a bit pricey to be the former and a bit light on features to be the latter. Snow Bros. fans who don’t mind dropping twenty bucks to have a decent remake will be happy with what they get here, but others may find there isn’t quite enough here to make a decent snowman.
