If you are a fan of third person cover shooters then you should definitely give Max Payne 3 a try. It is an entertaining and visceral journey through Sao Paulo and one I intend on experiencing again.

This is more of a game for hardcore fans I will suggest, and those fans will love this. However casual gamers should not hold back and give this a try, there is a highly addictive nature to it that most will like.

Take it for what it is and you will enjoy it. Back in the days of some of these games the plot lines and depth of gameplay weren't there, it was just pure unadulterated entertainment. That remains today, just don't expect Mass Effect 3 storylines or Gears of War visuals. Just pick up the gamepad and enjoy.

While it still has some problems it is a much better title than the original and is a step in the right direction.

The mature theme, gameplay and compelling plot pull us through a story that creates a legend that you would be a fool to miss out on.

If you are a fan of platforming titles then you really should play this game. Don't let it slip under your radar and be sure to be careful the next time you are eating candy…unless you want to deal with evil, deranged candy out to get you.

The DMC series was and is still worth your time. If you haven't played these gems then you have no excuse, as for the first time Xbox 360 players have it. The HD remake looks lush.

Anomaly Warzone Earth was a fun game when it came out last year for the PC and the development team has done an exceptional job bringing it over to the Xbox 360.

If you cannot wait until October's release of Resident Evil 6, then I'd suggest re-visiting the HD remakes of Code Veronica and RE4. If you don't mind a bit of mindless shooting and coming away from the experience with nothing notable then rent this.

Ninja Gaiden 3 isn't what you'd expect from a game about the stealthy secret martial art. It's big and brash but if you have played any of it's predecessors you will know that already. It's like a coin op, it has instant gratification and is visually attractive and would certainly make you throw a pound into it if it was in a cabinet in the local arcade. At home though we need more substance than the glossy exterior for our money.

If you are a fan of the Armored Core series, AC V is a must have. You'll love the customization, multiplayer mode, and gameplay. If not a fan of the AC titles, I suggest not being intimidated and learn by doing. What is not in the tutorial is not impossible to learn, but takes patience. Playing the game will be rough at first, but after getting into the swing of things, you'll most likely end up enjoying it. Don't let the difficulty stop you. Grab a friend or mercenary and enjoy!

Parts frustrate, other parts satisfy; it's not for everyone. It is arguably a very niche title but it's not a sterile experience akin to a full on flight sim, however, Birds of Steel leans more that way than being a pick up and play, arcadey title. If you're interested in this genre you'll enjoy the experience, but if it's not something you'd be interested in normally then it's probably not for you. Gaijin have done well with this title. It seems to tick all the right boxes but don't expect to have to fight off the masses to get a copy.

Button bashers and proficient veteran ninja's alike will find this a worthy reason to revisit the Naruto universe.

Overall I have had a lot of fun with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13. Despite my complaint about the way some of the courses are handled this is a great golfing title.

Overall Mass Effect 3 is a pretty incredible game and a nice way to finish Shepard's story.

It could be a very good game and although it's not specifically been done before it just seems to defeat itself. It's neither a RTS nor a Tower defense game. Defenders of Arcania doesn't do either really well and it doesn't know what it wants to be which is a shame really.

There really isn't much more to say about MLB 2K12. It is basically last year's version of the game albeit with a few minor improvements.

The fighting physics and the technical aspect of this game have been done well. If I had a gripe it would be that the Tekken fighters are harder to use at first, but practice is key in this game. Go buy this, seriously.

Overall FIFA Street is a fantastic title for those who are looking to get their soccer fix.

EA has kept the base of the popular game from the nineties and given it a modern twist which works. In a time where there are a plethora of first person shooters it's difficult to really stand out from the rest and it would be a lie to say it's a ground breaker but if you're tired of Modern Warfare and just want an enjoyable and rewarding experience then try Syndicate. You won't be disappointed.

Ultimately, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a game for the nerdiest RPG aficionado AND the regular Joe who wants just a splash of fantasy. Featuring wonderfully original graphics, gameplay that is fun and approachable, and a story that entertains without entrapment, this game is definitely worth a spin. But even in light of all it does right, Amalur's greatest accomplishment is boasting a very complex and intricate game while giving the appearance of something straightforward and effortless.

The action is fast, brutal and completely absurd, the story a blend of Asian mythology and Sci-Fi epic. If you like action in its purest form or are partial to enjoying anime then Asura's Wrath is something you will not want to miss!

Despite the complaints that I mentioned above if you are a fan of Alan Wake then you should really play this game. It is a beautiful looking title and Remedy has raised the bar for XBLA games going forward. You really should play the original first though so that you can properly grasp what is going on and what Alan is fighting against.

SSX has returned bigger and better than ever. You can tell the development team took great care to bring their vision to life and they have given us the best SSX game to date.

Overall, Digital Extremes has created a sequel to a game they did not make and have successfully made it their own. The Darkness 2 is built on strong foundations, bringing you an experience that is not weakened by half arsed values (with exception to the multiplayer). If you enjoy being led down a corridor blasting everything that gets in your way all the while being given a little sprinkle of RPG style level unlock mechanics then you will not be disappointed by this trip into The Darkness.

Gotham City Impostors looks like it was initially designed to be a "freemium" title and then somewhere along the line they decided to charge for it.

All told though it's a solid performer, typical EA fare really, but that's just its problem. Yes it's a decent game; yes the graphical representations of the characters are excellent, yes in the main it does what you tell the game to and the controls are easy to follow after a game or so but it's just missing that something special.

UFC Undisputed 3 offers a tremendous amount of content. It is the best UFC title to date and one you shouldn't miss out on.

If you are on the fence about this game I would definitely suggest that you rent it before you buy it. If you happen to be a big fan of the franchise then there should be enough here to satisfy you as long as you like fighting online.

If you are a Need for Speed fan, or a racing fan in general, I would recommend checking this title out. You might want to rent it first though to make sure you enjoy what the game has to offer before spending your hard earned cash.

It is always fun to play as Master Chief and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a good way to spend some of your gaming time until Halo 4 hits next year.

If you are a WWE fan then this game belongs in your library. If you aren't a WWE fan you should definitely still check out this title. Even if you have no interest in watching the product on television this is a really fun title that you might find yourself enjoying. This is a title that has something for everyone. Be sure not to miss out.

Saints Row The Third is a tremendous amount of fun.

This is a title that deserves a spot in your gaming library. The environments are stunning, the level of control you have over your own experience is amazing and, simply put, Skyrim is an epic experience.

Modern Warfare 3 succeeds in every area and the development teams at both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games should be extremely proud.

Your enjoyment of Battlefield 3 will be dependent on what you want out of it. If you are the type of gamer who only wants to play the game for its story then I would highly suggest you rent this game first so that you know what you are getting in to. The multiplayer is really where the fun is here and if you have been a fan of the franchise in the past then you should have a great time here.

The original GoldenEye came out on the Nintendo 64 many years ago and GoldenEye 007 Reloaded is a worthy successor. The development team over at Eurocom did a fantastic job bringing the game into 2011 and the game is still fun to go through.

Not only is this a really amazing Batman title, it is a really amazing action adventure title overall. My only complaint is that some of the boss battles were a little annoying, however, the game overall is a masterpiece.

Overall, Dance Central 2 is a pretty amazing Kinect game. Harmonix has packed it full with features and it should keep you busy for quite a while. This is by far the best Kinect dance game and a pretty good leap from the original Dance Central.

The game is a lot of fun and there is something satisfying about shooting your enemy out of the air and watching a big mid-air explosion.

Overall, Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is a really fun title. The game is aimed at a younger demographic and kids should have a lot of fun with this adventure. If you are a Spyro fan you should still play this game no matter how old you are. If the game is properly marketed by Activision I can see this becoming a hot item for kids this holiday season.

As I mentioned above, Rage runs incredibly smooth on the 360 and it is definitely one of the most beautiful games to hit the console. I enjoyed the variety the gameplay had to offer and I thought the game was paced pretty well. Id Software has created a fun new universe and I can't wait to experience the next chapter.

Dead Island is a really big game and gamers who enjoy open world titles with a ton of missions should really have fun here.

Epic really seems to have nailed how to get the most out of the Xbox 360 hardware and it shows with each new release. The bottom line is this: If you own an Xbox 360 Gears of War 3 is one of those games that you must own.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a really fun title.

Gunstringer is a fantastic title and definitely one of my favorite titles for Kinect. I was impressed with how well it controlled and how the whole package came together. It has the standard Twisted Pixel humor throughout the game so if you have enjoyed their previous titles then you should enjoy this one as well.

Overall the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is only ten dollars and is a great deal for that price.

Get past the fact that a lot of problems Madden has had for years are still there and you should have a great time with Madden NFL 12.

Deus Ex Human Revolution is a pretty amazing game.

Toy Soldiers Cold War is a fantastic title.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is a memorable title during a summer of incredible arcade games.

This title does do a tremendous job of showcasing how brutal nature can truly be and the helplessness that you feel when you can't do anything about it. If you are a fan of "god" games then I urge you to give From Dust a chance.

Overall, Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team is a fun title. If you are a fan of the Warhammer universe you should have fun controlling the Space Marines and if you aren't familiar with the franchise you should still have fun killing a lot of enemies and blowing stuff up.

Overall Bastion is an exceptional title and a tremendous start to the 2011 Summer of Arcade promotion. This is the first title from Supergiant Games and they have hit a home run with it.

So if you are a FPS fan, a F.E.A.R. nut or merely someone who loves their gore, then pick up F.E.A.R. 3 – you'll have a bloody good time.

With Ms. Splosion Man Twisted Pixel took a formula that already worked and simply added more craziness.

As it turns out, following the rabbit down the rabbit hole is a whole lot of fun.

You will have a lot of fun playing it while at the same time getting into better shape and becoming more healthy without even realizing it.

However, not many game companies have taken the risk to make a shooter that is as near to realistic as possible, and Red River is not too far from the mark. So if you want a shooter that will challenge you then pick up Operation Flashpoint Red River and lock and load, oorah!

Duke is a competent shooter, however, it didn't grow with the times.

Shuggy is able to take a gamer back to their roots of gaming, with a fun and jazzy soundtrack and brilliantly bright colours in a much more simplistic looking environment as opposed to today's games. Shuggy offers a nostalgic journey to the past in a game that is both addictive and enjoyable to the end.

I enjoyed my time with Red Faction Armageddon. There will be some people disappointed with some of the changes that were made, however, in my opinion, it made for a really fun experience.

Overall, L.A. Noire is an absolutely amazing title. The development team over at Team Bondi and Rockstar have hit a homerun here and have set the bar for any future titles in this genre.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is clearly the best Lego game to date.

If you are a racing fan then you need to give Dirt 3 a chance. Even if you are just a casual fan be sure not to overlook this game. You might be pleasantly surprised with what you find as this is a game for the hardcore and casual fan alike.

Overall, Brink was a disappointment.

The amount of detail that was put into this game is astounding and it is also, graphically speaking, one of the most beautiful fighters out there. Be sure not to miss out on this round of Mortal Kombat.

Overall, Portal 2 is an absolutely amazing title. Everyone (including myself) was disappointed when Portal 2 was delayed earlier this year, however, it was more than worth the wait. Portal 2 is a masterpiece that I can see myself playing for years.

The best thing to do is download the free demo and try it out yourself. If you end up liking it then wait for when it is on sale. Otherwise, simply go back to your shooter of choice and have fun.

If you were a wrestling fan at any point in your life then you need to have this game in your library.

It is a breath of fresh air in a genre that tends to recycle the same old thing.

This is a great family title if you are a parent who is concerned about some of the more violent titles on the market. If you are a fan of the film (or have kids that are) be sure to give this game a shot.

The mechanics of the game are such that both newcomers and seasoned veterans should be comfortable in the ring. For the more hardcore player you can manage a fighter in Legacy mode or go online and challenge the world. For the more casual fan they will get a kick out of Champion mode as well challenging their friends to a bout.

If you are a fan of shooters at all then you definitely need to give this game at try. If you take this game too seriously you are not going to enjoy it. You need to go into it with an open mind and a sense of humor. Simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

Whether you want a blast from the past or an introduction to the genre, Hard Corps Uprising is worth a shot.

Overall de Blob 2 is a fantastic title. It took the concepts from its predecessor and expanded upon them with great results.

Overall, Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a fantastic fighting title. It doesn't do anything particularly innovative or ground breaking but it doesn't need to. In fact, there is a certain segment of the hardcore fanbase that would probably get upset if Capcom were to make too many changes.

Stacking is a delightful game. The team over at Double Fine have once again crafted a different kind of adventure that is enjoyable on all levels.

Overall, Body and Brain Connection isn't a horrible game but it does have quite a few problems. Your enjoyment of this game will depend on how you can deal with those problems and whether you can overcome them.

Mindjack is a bit of a mixed bag. I really like the concept but I hated the execution of the game.

Two Worlds II is a pretty amazing turnaround from the first game so please don't let the reputation of the original title keep you from this game. Be sure to try it out for yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised.

If you are not familiar with this series then you are in for a treat. It is a game that you can play solo if you want to unlock those ever important achievements, however, the game is the most fun when you are playing with a group of people.

Overall, Breach had a lot promise but technical shortcomings ruin the experience.

SBK X is a fantastic racing title from Deep Silver.

Overall, the Undergarden is a breath of fresh air. It's a fantastic puzzler that achieves what it set out to do.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is a fantastic game.

If you are an MMA fan be sure to give this title a shot. If you aren't an MMA fan then you should still give this game a chance because it can be a good fighting game too.

Overall, Rock Band 3 is a fantastic game.

Overall, Call of Duty Black Ops is a game that will keep you busy for quite a while.

This was a great Bond adventure with some classic Bond moments.

Nail'd doesn't have all the hype that some of the recent releases have enjoyed but it is just as much fun.

If you are a WWE fan or a wrestling fan in generally you owe it to yourself to check out this title. You won't be disappointed and you'll be surprised how much fun it is to throw your friends over the top rope.

Overall I enjoyed my time with Alien Breed 2: Assault. It's a fun title to go through and going through it with a friend only increases the fun factor.

It's tough at times, and some moments will have you gnashing your teeth in frustration in the early stages of the game when Chuck has less health and inventory slots to play with. But stick with it, and soon you'll be sucked into a world of zombies, sinister plots and downright good gory fun.

Overall Shank is one of the best beat 'em up titles to come out in a long time

Front Mission Evolved is an enjoyable third person action title.

Remedy has a masterpiece with Alan Wake and with each new installment I enjoy the universe more and more.

Overall, I personally had a lot of fun with this title. What kept me going through this game was the humor I found throughout the game whether I was at my base or plowing through an episode.
