While Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue isn't going to rock the gaming world to its foundations or win any awards, it's still an enjoyable and entertaining platform romp that will surprise those of you who decide to take a chance on it.

This is a very deep simulation and it’s this kind of detail that makes it so addictive, showing up other wannabes like "Jurassic Park: Project Genesis."

It doesn’t aim to break the mould or do anything particularly innovative, but instead relies on proven ingredients and a good line in humour to keep things ticking.

It’s hard not to enjoy No One Lives Forever, it’s difficult not to laugh and need to see the next colourful level. But once you stop, it’s very hard to get excited by what is an essentially a very shallow, but fun game.

Easily the best example of its genre on the PS2 and if you enjoyed "MX2002" then this markedly superior sequel will represent a near essential purchase.

An absolute must buy for basketball enthusiasts (football fans think of "Pro Evoultion Soccer 3," with a license and Live capabilities). For anyone else: this is as good as console basketball gets, so try it.

Acceptable character animation and slightly angular backgrounds, decent combat and imaginative puzzles make for a warm gaming experience that's heavily undermined by a total lack of voice acting.

A refreshing change from FIFA et al. It is easy to get into but addictive enough to keep you coming back for more.

Xbox Live is a timely upgrade, the Konquest mode plays well and Puzzle Kombat rocks, but without any significant improvement in fighting styles or basic playability Mortal Kombat is good but just not good enough.

If more effort had been expended so as to maximise this versionís potential, weíd have a real stunner here. As it stands, we have merely a decent conversion of a great game.

There is nothing else quite like this, and until the sequel, there never will be. Get this at your peril - your life social life will soon be gone afterwards.

The textures in this game may not look quite as nice as the Bungie first-person shooter, but it does make up for it with a lovely blur effect giving you a real sensation of speed and some fairly attractive lighting and shadowing.

Fans of all things noir will eat up this one with a sizeable gaming spoon, and anyone who loves a serving of violence with a side order of dirty words will also take plenty away from Max Payne 2.

The Wall Moves and 4-On-4 mini-games will be great incentives for anyone who wavered over buying the original but it isn't nearly enough reason for returning fans to reinvest.

Some clumsy colouring on the USA courts also means the ball can often get lost on screen making returns a gamble. Add in waif-like character models and it can often become a chore to keep an eye on the action.

As with "Amped 2," it looks like the developers have sidelined the game feel in favour of faithful sporting recreation, and all things considered, the game benefits greatly.

If Capcom wants this hard-core beat-’em-up to appeal beyond a niche market changing the control system alone is not enough.

It still has a definite 'one-more-go' appeal and thus the sense of satisfaction when you complete missions is immense. Whilst not quite as accomplished as the Medal Of Honor games, Crashdown is certainly recommended for those looking for a decent FPS treat.

Bigger, more intricate and rather more absorbing that the first half of the story, The Lost Age is not only a great continuation of the Golden Sun saga but also a deeply satisfying game in its own right.

Far from perfect: a few choice annoyances ensure this. But in terms of enjoyment, there is a sizeable chunk of hours to play through, with or without the story sequences.

Even when you take into account some other minor disappointments on top of the AI though (such as the mess of a multiplayer mode and some annoying graphical glitches that occur on occasion), there’s still no denying that Freedom Fighters is a fairly impressive effort and a fun game to boot.
