Hades II builds upon the excellent foundation of its predecessor, expanding it magnificently with more weapons, enemies, biomes, objectives, and much more to accomplish in an experience that also delights both the eyes and ears. It undoubtedly ranks among the best titles of the year.

Elden Ring is a very entertaining game that takes a lot from other FromSoftware titles. Its beautiful open world is a double-edged sword: on the one hand, it invites you to explore, but on the other, it makes you face the same enemies over and over again until you are sick of it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has enough arguments to be a great game, not just a simple sequel. Link's new abilities change how players enjoy the franchise, and even the world feels much more open than in Breath of the Wild. The downside is that, at various times, the scenarios feel empty and add little to the adventure. Sometimes the shrines are more challenging to solve, the boss battles are memorable and exciting, and the game invites you to be brave at all times because now, the goal to save the day is more meaningful.

Team Asobi demonstrated through Astro Bot that video games don't need to be pretentious to be fun. The only issue this title has is its excessive reverence for the PS5, which, while a good console, isn't necessarily changing this generation of gaming. Beyond that, we have an excellent title with a high level of replayability that immerses you in a world full of adventures, reminding you that a game should provide plenty of entertainment and not headaches.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree fully lives up to its expansion name by giving us more of what we loved from the base game but with gameplay, world, and content innovations. It truly makes you feel like the first time you explored the Lands Between while introducing new and daunting challenges. However, I must warn you that it is more challenging than expected. Even those with hundreds of hours will feel a lot of pressure.

The joint work between Retro Studios plus the experience of Iron Galaxy gave us Metroid Prime Remastered, one of the most outstanding games that the Nintendo Switch can have. Both studios gave new life to a perfect classic that today you can enjoy once again and with modern controls, a much-appreciated detail. This masterpiece came back from the ashes like a phoenix to remind us of the greatness of Metroid.

Persona 5 Royal is a title for every video game lover. The style and art direction have characterized it and finished establishing the franchise. Its arrival on new consoles will only allow more people to enjoy one of the best games that Atlus has made with this team. The only problem is its enormous duration that, for some, could seem unnecessary amid excellent character development that immerses the player in their world.

Metaphor: ReFantazio differs from the unique proposition that Atlus promised to develop for the West over eight years. Its structure clearly reflects Persona 5, and based on that foundation, the team has refined and built one of the most entertaining games of the year. While Atlus has demonstrated its mastery in many areas, such as its ability to create fascinating worlds and an unmatched aesthetic, it can offer much more in gameplay.

God of War Ragnarok is an epic action adventure game. The story is solid. It uniquely interprets Norse mythology and takes you by the hand through an entertaining narrative. The combat mechanics fully serve their purpose, and the progression system goes hand in hand with exploring the 9 Kingdoms, which was a great idea. We will talk for a long time about God of War Ragnarok for everything it contributed to gaming in a time when games are developed between two generations with very different capabilities.

Nothing has changed. The game is mostly the same: Kratos is still playing the "father simulator" and God of War is still a wonderful game that, at the time, offered an aesthetic experience hard to match up. However, nothing that existed in 2018 can be assumed as the reality that we live in the present day, the fateful AP (After Pandemic) World. What really changed is, undoubtedly, the way we see it... Ah, of course! Also the platform.

Hades on PS5 works perfectly. The resolution and textures look bright, colorful, and have very good quality. Sure, this is a version that doesn't take advantage of what the DualSense can offer, however that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed. This game is a must-play, regardless of the platform.

Resident Evil 4 Remake manages to maintain the spirit of the original but gives it a huge graphic improvement and changes to the gameplay that feel like a great success. It never stops surprising and its pace makes you not want to let go of control, even after reaching the credits. Capcom again gives us an example of what a remake should do.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is everything a sequel should be, giving us a more complex, varied, and comprehensive game than its predecessor while delving deeper into its characters and making us even more attached to them. With all of this, it becomes an intermediate episode that sets the stage for a trilogy finale that is sure to be epic.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a triumphant return of the plumber to 2D platformers. Its levels are very varied and challenging, and it is evident that creativity flowed with the alterations of the wonder flower. Despite minor problems, it is a game that gamers should include in the collection of any Nintendo Switch owner.

Forza Horizon 5 improves over its predecessor in almost every way, except that some of its main events aren't as entertaining or spectacular. This is not only a love letter to its Mexican fans, but also a great contender to Game of the Year, because anyone, no matter where they are from, will be able to enjoy this great driving experience.

Street Fighter 6 is a much more complete experience than SFV. The two headlines that make this game something worthy are the simplification of the combat system for new players and the change in the combat mechanics so that the counters are the new base for the duels to be much more spectacular and dramatic. The arcade and story modes are entertaining but could be improved or extended to make them more fun. Overall, we have a great Street Fighter installment that will be enjoyable for a long time. Capcom listened to the community, and those who buy this video game will feel like they are paying for a whole experience.

The result is a solid title, with a design that aims to keep the player entertained and busy in a certainly direct and compact experience that fans will appreciate.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 stands as a surprisingly solid port. Midgar looks spectacular thanks to its lighting, and the package includes Episode INTERmission. In exchange, the game runs at 30fps, uses a softer resolution, and shows inconsistent textures in areas such as the Slums, along with occasional upscaling artifacts. Even so, the combat excels, the story shines, and the docked mode maintains strong stability.
