If there was ever a game that demonstrated quality over quantity, this is it.

Regardless of how you approach it, Desperate Struggle is an amazing game. It takes everything that worked from the previous title and expanded upon it, and fixes nearly everything else.

The story and hijinks found within could’ve been the basis for yet another Oscar winning short for director Nick Park and his team at Aardman, but instead are the premise for one of the most genuinely wonderful and funny adventure games in years. It really is a grand day out.

As far as handheld RPGs go, it doesn’t get much more original than this.

Do you know why it’s such a great sequel? Because it gives the fans more of what they want, introducing plenty of new spins of the gameplay while still retaining is fundamental qualities.

For strategy fans, World In Conflict is an absolute must. It delivers pure action, but on a level that forces players to make intelligent decisions on the go.

If there was ever a reminder of why The King of Fighters kicks ass, this is it.

My one major complaint is that the game never feels very difficult, especially on Normal. There are frustrating moments, hordes of baddies, and increasing difficulty levels, but the same feeling of utter defeat never really happens as it did in the past.

It has a certain charm you can’t help but love and the precision based, high octane gameplay is one you’re going to keep coming back to.

With tons of new levels, characters, and treasures, this game will have you coming back for more, even after you've paid off that debt. They've taken everything that we've held dear about the original, and expanded it throughout, making a more complete game and creating something that is a pleasure to play.

How well this game has aged is truly a testament to the series. It’s only regrettable that we may never get a true sequel to one of the most iconic entries in gaming history.

This game has clearly been the result of a tremendously talented development team listening to feedback and giving gamers what they wanted - namely more variety and more depth.

Left 4 Dead 2 is an insanely fun co-op and competitive online experience, and that’s a great similarity to have with the original.

Made from the same people that gave us the rather loveable "Links 2004," this really is a game, let alone a tennis game, that you shouldn’t be without.

For those having a hard time comprehending today's fighters, MvC3 is there for you. Meanwhile, veterans can definitely say that this title hits the spot.

Assassin’s Creed is quite possibly the coolest game I’ve ever played. Not only is it satisfying to play, but it looks incredible and is easy to control. Each city is alive with activity, designed with care and attention to detail. Assassin’s Creed may not be perfect, but it offers one of the best singleplayer experiences you’ll play this year, and that’s saying a lot.

Champion mode pulls inspiration from the likes of Rocky and Raging Bull to craft a narrative around the sport that people still find engrossing. It's the perfect path for the series to take and we can only hope the next Fight Night builds on this promise, telling more tales from the world of boxing.

Literally, there are well over 200 hours of gameplay in the Simulation Mode, even for a skilled player just to beat the game.

Despite the story at the start of game urging you to be the best and beat everyone else, Test Drive: Unlimited is more about relaxing, having fun and enjoying the scenery than getting in a sweat at completing every challenge.

If you can look past the difficulty and dig the new (old) style, then by all means download this sadistic game that will no doubt have you hooked, regardless of how bad you are.

Banjo-Kazooie may be more of an homage to Nintendo’s first 3D romp through the mushroom kingdom than a pioneer of the same genre, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying.

Whilst admittedly rough around the edges in parts, the bulk of the virtual racing experience is entirely refreshing.

Alien: Isolation is a triumph and one of my favourite horror games ever. That it features such an iconic antagonist is the cherry on top of a delightfully terrifying cake.

It successfully manages to humanise a bunch of polygons in ways that few games can. The inclusion of your dog, the accessible combat system and the trail are all things which make it enjoyable to play, but it's the humour and way in which your hero interacts with the rest of Albion which will really keep you coming back for more. Fable II is ambitious and inclusive, but this time Lionhead's audacity really has paid off.

If you have any interest in strategy warfare games whatsoever, then do yourself a favor and get this game. It’s a wonderful departure from the happy-go-lucky Advance Wars games of old.

Caelondia is a beautiful, vibrant locale to behold, punctuated by a fitting soundtrack that will surprise as often as it delights. But, it's the characters and creatures of this world that make the experience so special and memorable.

A slam-bang action ride that never lets you off the edge of your seat.
