Put it this way - both "Madden" and Gameday are the same price. If moldy black bananas cost the same as the best 10 ounce sirloin, which would you pick? I don't even eat meat but I know the answer to that one. Do what you do with the moldy bananas - throw them in the landfill.

A bad frame-rate, severely choppy animation, and a hard-to-spot aiming cursor are just a few things that seriously hinder Power Spike's promising but flawed gameplay.

The new game modes are fun to play. However, the repackaged graphics and sound just don't improve significantly over last year's version. In some respects they are worse.

Just flat out fun to play. Is it better than "Sega GT?" Yes. Is it better than "F-355?" Yes. I can honestly say that it's the best racer on the Dreamcast and on any system for that matter. "Whoa! Man, are you saying this is the best racer of all time?" Yep, that's what I'm saying.

Essentially what I expected it to be, which is to say, a $30 "patch" for the dismal "TW2K."

With all the extra power of the PS2, all EA could do was add two more cars to the field. The 20 cars race in a pseudo-sim. This leaves arcade and sim racing fans alike scratching their heads.

Would have failed as a traditional racing game, since the racing itself is rather boring and uninspired. The limited trick list and lack of common features, such as a track editor and create-a-rider mode, also detract from the game.

If it weren't for the beautiful graphics, great sound, awesome gameplay, and enormous replay value NBA2K1 would have nothing going for it.

I had a lot more fun with the PSX version of Fifa 2001. Sure, it's also an arcade experience, but the passes don't move as fast, the tackles aren't as vicious and there isn't the useless shoot bar. Fifa 2001 PC is a huge disappointment and it's time the Fifa series got a major overhaul.

    SSX
With tight gameplay, huge environments, and stunning graphics, SSX is the most enjoyable snowboarding game ever made, and it is easily one of the best games available for the PS2.

While Shootout 2001 is not a bad game, it's not as good as "Live 2001" for the PSX.

The cure for your sim racing obsessions -- smashing through junkyards and leaping over freight trains in a single bound will put a smile on even the most dedicated simulation junkie's face. It's not a great game, but you'll have a great time.

While the graphics aren't as good as I expected from this PS2 title, they are still a huge jump up for PlayStation owners. The reported slowdown hardly detracts from enjoying the game.

A damage model makes the game more intriguing, although it is available in only one mode. The graphics suffer from pop-up and collision detection miscues, but overall the game looks good.

The 3D accelerated graphics are a big boost in my eyes and the addition of the APCD is going to give this sim the legs it's been lacking in recent years.

There's no question that F12K's presentation is top notch, and it's just frustrating to think that if some of the work put into the presentation had of been channeled into improving the physics and AI, then F12K could have been definitive console F1 simulation.

The lack of a decent camera angle makes fielding a highly frustrating experience. Running under fly balls is not a problem at all. The dilemma is fielding the ground balls.
