  1. Without a doubt one of the best console racing games I have played in the past few years and deserves to mentioned in the same with the likes of "Gran Turismo," "Ridge Racer" and "Sega GT."
  2. The gameplay has an ultrarealistic feel to it, thanks to an accurate physics model that not only shows the car lean from the stress of a turn, but also totally lets you stay in control with tight responsive controls.
  3. This is not a "Gran Turismo 2" simulation-type of driving game, but it sure plays like one on TV (when hooked to a PSX of course).
  4. A step above the arcade driving of "Ridge Racer," and a little more serious than the "Need for Speed" series, but it still doesn't beat the granddaddy of great racing games ("Gran Turismo").
  5. Forget what you think you know about the oval-track monotony and unbreakable silliness of console racing games; Jarrett and Labonte obviously did before attaching their names to this wonderful, visceral racer, and we're all better off for it.

Overly realistic controls are unforgiving, turning tiny slip-ups into disasters.

While Jarrett & Labonte is a solid title, it's not going to convert non-racing-game fanatics to the fold as "Gran Turismo" has done.

The physics are also slightly off, the cars not having quite enough weight and heft to them, but the constant overtaking and body contact make it more fun to play than the average PS1 racing sim.
