Football Manager 2016 isn’t the best of the 3d match engine era – I think that’d go to 14, which consolidated lots of ideas into a redesigned tactical system – but the apparent improvements to both long- and short-term AI make it a much more involving and reactive experience.- Rock, Paper, Shotgun

It’s a triumph of a game despite some flaws, and certainly one of my peak gaming moments of 2015. Bright, cheerful, ridiculous, and most of all, absolutely determined to ensure you have fun. (Recommended)- Rock, Paper, Shotgun

‘Farce’ really is the key word though – any time I suspected it was about to become acidic, it hammered the silliness button as hard as it could. I know I keep mentioning it in the context of The Stanley Parable, so here’s the summary without it: it’s funny, inventive short game about games and getting flustered.- Rock, Paper, Shotgun

I still wish they’d been placed in a more inventive or expressive shell. For all of the wonderful craft on show, Siege doesn’t contain any surprises. It executes its plan to perfection but there’s no room for deviation.- Rock, Paper, Shotgun

SquareCells fascinates me. It falls short of the elegant simplicity I found in Hexcells Infinite, but not by much. It scratches that exact same itch and, promisingly, it reminds me of how I felt about the first Hexcells game.- Rock, Paper, Shotgun
