The combat herein is a tour de force, oozing over-the-top charm and playing with as much balance as any of the more traditionally respected fighters out there. However, the experience will, most likely, be at least tainted for newcomers by a tacked-on one-player challenge that is not so much badly implemented, just poorly thought-out.

Overall it’s a solid game which will appeal to fans of Mercenaries 2, but sadly serves as a demonstration of lost talent with Pandemic paying the ultimate price during these difficult times.

Darksiders may be made up of some fairly standard action game components, but everything it does, it does brilliantly. The game never feels boring and always entertains due to the amount of variation and the epic boss battles cap of a very solid playing experience.

Sports Champions may not be the most innovative game, to demonstrate the abilities of PlayStation Move, but what it does do is show how incredibly well Move can work.

Dragon Age: Origins doesn’t really serve up anything we haven’t seen before in a roleplaying game. What it does, it does well and gameplay in the title is near perfect!

To be truthful, not a lot has changed in the game since the previous instalment except this time much more emphasis is put on combat rather than exploration and puzzle solving.

The single player campaign is a little shallow but the games fantastic multiplayer support more then makes up for it.

Whilst it can become a little repetitive and the difficulty a little too unforgiving it is overall great fun to smash the game world to pieces whilst bringing down the EDF.

Despite the gimmicks, shallow story Sonic Colours is one of the stronger Sonic games SEGA has brought us in recent times. Providing gamers with a fantastic looking retro dose of Sonic action thats hard not to like, it's a Sonic game for the "Sonic" generation!

Graphically it’s awesome with an excellent soundtrack to accompany the high octane action onscreen, it is a shame that the loading times seem to take so long as you’ll be waiting to get stuck in again as quickly as possible for some high quality fighting fun!

Crackdown 2 may have a familiar feel to it but it definitely offers a more refined playing experience over the original.

Overall Band Hero is basically everything we’ve already seen from Guitar Hero 5, however the music featured in the game opens the franchise up to a whole new audience of wannabe pop stars.

I, like many gamers had high expectations for Gran Turismo 5 but it seems that these have not been meet, mainly by a need to get the game on the shelves in time for the busy Christmas period and whilst GT5 does still provide an excellent driving experience with probably some of the best vehicle performance and handling to grace a videogame, certain aspects simply don't feel like a Gran Turismo game should, which may leave some feeling a little disappointed.

The shooting can become a little repetitive at times but I'm guessing the average gamer will be able to look beyond this for the sheer enjoyment of the rest of the game.

Lush environments help to feed the games realism value along with detailed and nicely animated character models.

Charming, immersive and intuitive. Oh yes.

Kinect Sports is a brilliant example of how good a mini-game compilation can be and proves to be an excellent demonstration of how well Kinect can work. It does lack a little depth in some areas but proves to be an excellent title to play with friends.

Alan Wake may not be the most innovative title in terms of game play, but it does serve up a solid playing experience.

Assassin’s Creed II once again allows players to step into the silent shoes of an assassin, and moves in the right direction providing a more focused and solid playing experience.

Graphics are smooth and clean and detail in the game is never compromised with interactive surroundings, excellent weapon effects and great animation of the action taking place.

The game is challenging and equally rewarding, and its flaws are forgivable, I really hope I’ve managed to convince many of you to give this game a go as it is truly a diamond of a game albeit one which has yet to be refined.
