Regardless the pitfalls, Tales of Berseria is a high quality JRPG, featuring a great cast of characters and an interesting story, which guarantee plenty hours of fun to the fans of the genre.

The Evil Within 2 consciously focuses on the entertainment factor, leaving behind the heavy gothic dread of it’s predecessor. The resulting game is a surprisingly addictive horror fan playground, expertly expanding on every single mechanic encountered in the first game and providing a thrilling “haunted house” ride for genre fans.

With a very satisfyingly long runtime, excellent, challenging puzzles designed for hardcore adventure game players and it's inimitable mood, atmosphere and graphic presentation, the Dream Machine is only held back from "instant classic" status by it's lack of recorded voice-overs. Everything else in this surreal odyssey of the mind is simply top notch and guaranteed to find a place in the hearts of true adventure gamers everywhere.

Monster Hunter: World offers unique gameplay of high quality. However, the whole package could have been an order of magnitude superior if it included a properly designed online party system and the port from consoles was better taken care of. But even like this, MH:W is worth every penny it asks.

Despite a complete lack of competition, Total Mayhem Games delivers a successful and satisfying sequel to the We Were Here series. It's worth a try for all fans of the genre, no matter how alien the idea of an online co-op adventure game may seem to them.

Unrelenting, old school rogue-like with a beautiful presentation and an alluring B-movie script that keeps you coming back time and again, until you finally manage to escape the cursed skyscraper of Skyhill Hotel. Highly addictive and deeply atmospheric, this one is thoroughly recommended even to non-fans of the genre.

Streets of Rage 4 is a great sequel and an excellent addition to your game collection, whether you're an old fan of the genre or you just want a beat' em up game to have a good time. It may not thrill you much if you are not so fond of side-scrolling beat' em ups, but it is guaranteed to offer you many hours of pure fun, especially in the co-op mode.

An improved, smoother but not groundbreaking sequel that will mainly satisfy fans of the first game.

Sonic Superstars is a complete and fun return to the 2D roots of the series. With strong level design and impeccable controls, it could claim a place among the best of the year (and what a year!) with a less tedious boss encounter design.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is "to the point": visually it's a feast for the eyes and with an interesting percussion-based musical score. It's fun, thoughtful, made with care and inspiration, even if it doesn't offer anything original in its individual areas. Especially considering that this is Ember Lab's first effort, the future is bright, and we can already imagine an even better sequel.

Star Renegades is an addictive roguelite with a deep combat system, well-paced progression and satisfyingly punishing enemies. It could use some more variety and content but it is a very solid purchase if you are up to the challenge.

Primal, while not an FPS, is unmistakably a Far Cry. Ubisoft tried an experiment with this new setting and managed to refresh the franchise without altering its core.

Resident Evil 3 retells the story of Jill's desperate escape from the doomed Raccoon City, using an intriguing plot and more fleshed out characters than the original. It falls short of the sheer amount of content its predecessors had, but it excels in moment to moment gameplay which it delivers in spades.

Utopia, together with the free “Banks” update, introduce a ton of much-desired additions to Stellaris’ core gameplay. It might need some more polish and balancing in order to truly shine, but it remains a solid step forward in the game’s journey to perfection.

Dead Space's remake is one of those that has a reason to exist and offers a strong action/horror experience. If you're a new player and this is your first time with the game, you'll be very much impressed, while those who played the original Dead Space will feel familiar, but the improvements are so spot on that they will push you to relive the nightmare all over again. Crimes and Punishments is a nearly excellent game, one of those anybody enjoys playing calmly every afternoon / night, until he reaches its end. It brings many innovations to the franchise, such as moral choices, conclusions about various characters' possible guilt and heavy use of deduction boards. The only thing I just can't stop wondering about is if Holmes himself would like his cases to be as simplified and easy to solve.

Kathy Rain is a really exciting point 'n' click adventure that every fan of eerie and dark adventures should play, even if it is hard for some to swallow the pill of the AGS engine.
