There's plenty here to like if you're a fan of Monster Hunter or Pokemon, but ultimately this hybrid is less than the sum of its parts and is difficult to recommend over core games in either franchise.

Noblemen: 1896 tries its hand at something different, but in the end it's too muddled and clunky to enjoy.

A solid and entertaining match-stuff puzzler, but Angry Birds Match isn't much more than that.

As unoriginal as its titular villains, March to War takes all the intrigue of The Walking Dead and hides it behind muddy graphics and too many menus.

There's a really great game here, but it misses out on a better score thanks to some slightly poor decisions.

No, it won't be to everyone's tastes, but if you're a fan of board games then there's definitely a lot to love here. And if you're a fan of baseball you might understand some of the things the game says to you. Either way there's a good deal of fun to suck out of Bottom of the 9th. Don't write it off if you don't fit into both, or either of the camps, it's designed for. Just go with it, and you might be pleasantly surprised.

A slick production with a few niggles that keep it away from the greatness it probably deserves.

Cat Bird doesn't break any new ground, but it's a gorgeous and flawless mobile platformer well worth checking out.

A rich, tough, ingenious dungeon crawler that's a pain to play in (mostly) all the right ways.

A clever card-battling RPG with enough of a twist to make it stand out from the crowd.

More Than a Feeling has some fierce positives and big negatives, but its character building and script pulls it through, making the wait for episode four that much harder.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is a gorgeous, amusing, and challenging turn-based strategy that's easily the best exclusive on Nintendo Switch so far. I'm just as surprised as you are.

Sonic Mania is a love letter to fans of the franchise, who will no doubt lap it up. But it also feels like a missed opportunity to be what Sega has never achieved before: a truly great Sonic game.

The sort of dogfighting game you're going to end up stuck in, in the very best way.

Super Phantom Cat 2 is an interesting, if simple platformer, with a few decent ideas thrown into the mix.

Ironcast is a match three roguelike with surprisingly detailed tactical combat, but it's as much based of random luck as it is your own forward planning.

Egglia is a gorgeous if uninspiring JRPG that really doesn't do enough to justify the steep price tag.

An appealing combat racer that's critically hampered by frequent momentum-sapping breaks in the action and an overbearing ad system.

A sharp and entertaining game of mixing potions and clearing cards. Miracle Merchant looks gorgeous too, and it cements Tiny Touch Tales as one of the most interesting developers working in digital cards at the moment.

There are a few niggles here and there, but the scope of Mini Day Z can't be sniffed at. It's a massive game, with multitudes of randomly generated islands to explore. There are different characters to play, and each time you pick up the game things are going to be different. If you're looking for a simple-to-start-with game of staying alive, then you could do a lot worse than checking this one out.

Tales of the Rays is an enjoyable mini JRPG that's unfortunately bogged down with typical freemium trappings. This one's for the diehards only.
