Tiny Barbarian DX is a great little retro-inspired platformer that riffs on the likes of Donkey Kong Country, but it suffers from repetition and a lack of inspiration at times.

Neon Chrome is a solid twin-stick shooter with more meat to it than you might initially expect.

The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ on Switch isn't just a brilliant port - it's arguably the best way to enjoy a modern roguelike classic.

FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch is the most competent handheld offering of the sport to date, though there's no escaping the fact it's a lesser product than its PS4 and Xbox One counterparts.

ARise is certainly an interesting implementation of the ARKit. It doesn't quite manage to live up to its potential though, and that's a bit of a shame. Still, in spite of the niggles there's a lot to like here. And if you prefer your games a little more thoughtful then it's well worth checking out.

The Machines isn't quite the killer app that AR gaming needs, but it's definitely an entertaining and engaging experience. The violence is thick and meaty, and there's a good level of strategy here. If you've only got enough money to spend on one AR game, then I'd probably make it this one. Just don't expect it to completely blow your mind like the people in the trailer.

SteamWorld Dig 2 is a fantastic addition to the franchise which uses everything we loved about the first game and builds on it, whilst also taking into account what fans have asked for. It's strategic, exciting, fun, utterly enjoyable, and a must-have for the average Switch owner. Whether you've played the first game or not, you'll have a blast with this one.

If you've not played The Witness before, then this mobile port is as good a place as any to experience it. But if you've already finished it elsewhere, some of the sparkle is definitely going to be missing on a second playthrough. Coming to The Witness fresh though is one of the most beguiling gaming experiences you can have. And that's something pretty special.

Stormbound has a depth that's easier to grasp than more fast-paced games. It's still just as easy to pick up, but you're going to want to push into it and find out more of what it has to offer. If the other games in the genre are a little too hectic for you, then I urge you to check out Stormbound. It's fresh, it's fun, and it'll have you playing for hours on end.

It might not have the scope of more traditional RTS games, but that's not what Iron Marines is looking to do. It wants to take the meat of the genre, throw in a few mobile twists, and then plonk the whole kaboodle into the palm of your hand. And it manages to do that with some real gusto. It's fun, it's deep, and it's almost certainly going to make you exclaim with joy. Iron Marines is the mobile RTS that we've been waiting for, and it's a little bit brilliant.

Lichtspeer may not have the longest shelf life, but it's as fun and addictive as it is utterly bananas, and feels right at home on the Switch.
