It has the potential to be a great game, but Scribblenauts Showdown just doesn't have enough depth or freedom to live up to its name.

A dark, complex, and deep strategy game that pushes you to build more at every turn.

A tough as nails mixture of two of the toughest genres out there. It's still a good deal of fun though.

There might not be much depth to it, but as a quick-fire dice-rolling experience, there's a lot to like in Roll For It.

A brilliant horror experience that ticks all the right boxes. Just make sure you play in a dark room with headphones on.

It might be a little short, but Subsurface Circular feels like it's found its forever home on the Switch.

Temple of Spikes is one of the cruelest games I've played, and if you're into that sort of thing you're going to love it.

It might lack a little when it comes to grace, but there's a crunching brawler here that's well worth checking out.

Part Time UFO is a wonderfully intuitive, unapologetically mobile arcade game that's guaranteed to brighten up any day.

Unlike its predecessor, Evoland 2 tends not to get so swept up in how clever it's being. And that makes it a far warmer and more welcoming experience. It's still poking fun, but it's doing it because it cares, not because it's mean. Sure, it's a little on the scatterbrained side, and there are RPGs on the App Store that do all of the things that it tries out better. But as an experience in pleasant nostalgia, there's enough care and attention been lavished on this one to make it worth your while.

Purrfect Date is a fun, intriguing interactive novel that doesn't take itself very seriously. You've just got to put the time in to get the most out of it.

Like so many games nowadays, Atomik: RunGunJumpGun is presented in a lovely pixel art style, but the biggest plus point is the soundtrack. It each level brilliantly, especially when you're wearing headphones. ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun becomes very atmospheric when played this way. Which is a major pro as there's barely any story here and what is delivered via soundbite dialogue between stages feels a bit tacked on. What could be a relatively bland game truly excels on the Switch, and if you're a completist going for all the collectibles, you'll be here for a long time.

A remarkable achievement and a hugely interesting idea, Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition's inherent identity crisis could be its undoing though.
