Some slowdown and an oddly inconsistent trick system hurt the game, but it's still good, clean fun. [Aug 2003, p.101]

But it all starts to falter with the gameplay, which generically mimics the sport and ultimately falls short of feeling like an actual college basketball game.

Boy, did we get screwed. Why? Guess what kind of multiplayer mode RtCW has on PS2? Go ahead, guess! Give up? NONE. [Aug 2003, p.102]

It's just too bad that such an intricate--albeit slightly flawed--game is covered in a beautiful wrapper that you can't explore beyond a 2D plane. [Oct. 2006, p.84]

Does what it does very well, offering a decent challenge, a few hearty chuckles, and plenty of personality. Unfortunately, I-Ninja doesn't do a heckuva lot of, well...anything. You can easily beat this game in a few short sessions, and you'll quickly forget about it afterward. [Dec 2003, p.162]

With intense, yet user-friendly, action and a full complement of online modes, Heroes of the Pacific is actually worth checking out. It's not going to blow "Ace Combat" out of the sky, but this game's got wings.

Besides the shocking, desensitizing violence that borders on being pornographic (there's no actual sex, but there is plenty of penetration and spraying of bodily fluids, all viewed from lurid camera angles), Manhunt turns out to be a pretty solid game.
