Lumines and Tetris may have paved the way with their falling block puzzles, but TiQal holds its own with a combination of gorgeous presentation, humorous writing and a simple yet entertaining puzzle structure. TiQal is worth your time, money and praise.

There is definitely room for improvements in the graphics department and any straight-from-PC gamers will still need plenty of time to adjust to the gamepad clunkiness.

Viking: Battle for Asgard is a solid action game that takes elements from Creative Assembly’s Total War series, and adds quick time events and sand-box gameplay. It’s a great romp if you don’t mind the button bashing.

Despite the sad excuse for a sandbox mode, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja is the best Naruto game on PlayStation 2; this installment refines the series further with flashier visuals and mini-games.

Crisis Core has an addictive quality about it because you really need to know what happens next, and you’ll most certainly want to see the next glorious cutscene.

A very satisfying expansion that adds in very fun and powerful units as well as a fun new game type.

It’s cute, it’s gorgeous, it’s addictive, and most importantly, it’s fun.

If you are looking for a mascot-based tennis game that doesn’t have “Mario” in the title - and a better variety of characters - give Sega Superstars Tennis a swing.

Essentially, if the original Rainbow Six: Vegas didn’t float your boat then this game probably won’t do much for you at all. But for hardcore fans of the original or for others who didn’t get round to playing it, Vegas 2 should definitely be worth checking out.

While being the first brain training title for the 360, it does little to enhance the genre, or make itself stand out from the portable brain training crowd. However, it does provide a solid test of your mettle, and for the paltry price you could do much, much worse.

Overall, if the violence doesn’t put you off, Condemned 2 is a worthy purchase. If you’re a shooter fan, and are after a visceral, disturbing experience, then this is the game for you.

Easily the best Square title on the DS available now, and possibly the best value for money title on the system too.

After raising the bar higher and higher, this version seems to come across as underwhelming.

In terms of features and rounds, it’s business as usual.

The PS2's graphics are looking dated – but that's not really much of a surprise. Complaining that the PS2 looks blocky is like complaining that dial-up is slow. It is what it is.

Army of Two is, at heart, a fairly standard action game that is saved from mediocrity by some fun co-operative gameplay. If you don’t have a friend to play through this with, you may as well stop reading right now.

In the end Flow doesn’t add enough to justify the $15 price tag if you already have the PlayStation 3 version, and the lack of a save game in between evolutions may be a problem if you suddenly have the urge to play something else in between plays.

The engaging atmosphere, excellent gameplay and replay value make this one of the best titles to hit the PSP in not only recent times, but in the entire PSP catalogue.

While not every element of the game is on the same level of polish, the overall package gives you so much to do that you could conceivably be running around Bullworth for several dozen hours.

But, good or bad, it's just more of the same. Not a recommended buy, unless you've lost your copies of the original Dawn of War and the other expansions, and still have a hankering to play.

In the end, Triggerheart fell down as a game that didn’t grip me or leave me with the desire to appreciate more fully, so there was very little personal enjoyment.

Unfortunately, the overall polish on the title can only be described as "a quick buff".

It doesn’t offer anything new to gamers but maintains the genius story-telling that made the show so successful.

Played through quickly, Patapon is an eight hour game which - when played correctly - can be as long as 15 to 20.

When the limbs stop flying and the dust settles, Naruto: Ninja Destiny is as close to what fans want in a Naruto fighter as they will get on the Nintendo DS: fast-paced fighting with a dash of touch screen support for item usage.

FreeTime is so rich with content and gameplay features that I rate it right up there with Seasons as one of my must-have expansion pack titles.

It looks good, plays well and is a bit too short.

Could be one of the most under-rated games of the year.
