For those looking for some action won't find it here; you're better off in space with Gameloft's NOVA or fighting Italian soldiers in Assassin's Creed II.

Assault Squadron is a fantastic game. While I personally prefer twitchier controls, most players will not find them to be an issue so this concern really should be considered more of a personal preference.

    Ash
Though I suspect once you get involved with Ash, you won't be able to put it down until you see what happens next.

It is easily among my favorite new app store releases.

Creating multiplayer match ups with friends is as simple as emailing your friends the link to your match and when accepted the game begins.

Once you strip down the game to its bare core and reveal it in its true form, you get a relatively smooth online FPS with one gameplay mode. Poor animations add to the list along with the fact that replay value is limited, making for quite mediocre online play.

Dodonpachi Resurrection is the best top-down shooter I've ever played, and being a newbie at bullet-hell shooters, I've had a ton of fun with it.

A fun, good-looking, and fully-featured top-down racer that delivers on its premise.

Aralon is quite simply the best RPG on the App Store. I can't really say enough about it, but man, Galoobeth and Crescent Moon have really outdone themselves.

It's awesome, the graphics are great, and the gameplay isn't too shabby. Sure, there's room for improvement. And if you didn't like the first one, you definitely won't like this. But honestly, compared to the competition, you really can't ask for more.

I can go on and on about how horrible this sports title is.

100 Rogues has taken me by the heartstrings and drives me by them as if they were reigns. At work or anywhere else I've not been able to play, I've only looked forward to coming home and hunting Satan. I am thoroughly rapt and constantly hungry for more. After all, hunting Satan is hungry work.

In short, this is the first superb new iOS game of the new year.

Flick Golf is another one of those games that you simply can't go wrong with, unless you hate golf games for some reason.

Clearly lacking in innovation, and personally, I'm having trouble playing the game for long periods of time. With a lack of story, lack of creativity, and an overall lack of fun, I say avoid this worm-hole of a mess until further notice.

It's been a long time since I was actually sucked into a video game storyline and cared about the characters and their fates.
