The match-3 mechanics, in my opinion, are quite simple and a bit too unoriginal for my tastes.

Honestly, by the time you've gotten five minutes into Daisy Mae's Alien Buffet, you will have seen just about everything the game has to offer. The only reason to go on playing after that is to unlock the three or four costume changes, as the game has no other staying power.

Overall, Cubed Rally Racer is just an okay game; casual gamers may find it a bit frustrating and ultimately quit for some other game.

While there is some lack of replay value, the overall game was very much worth that $1.99, a price not too far away from the minimal $0.99 price tag.

Despite some shortcomings, Chop Chop Ninja is overall a fun game, a welcome entry to the App Store's mostly underwhelming line-up of ninja titles, and likely to be the last sleeper hit of 2009.

Chop Chop Caveman may be the best prehistoric platformer since Bonk's Adventure, and the best Chop Chop game yet.

The AI is slightly under the AI for FIFA 10.

While the accelerometer is quite fluid, many of the games key controls are hard to access.

Vector Tanks EXTREME is not for the faint of heart. But if action is your drug, then VTX is like crack.

Vanquish: The Oath of Brothers is a hack-and-slash button-masher with an excellent story, good controls, and striking visuals. I really liked it, but I do wish it had a touch more depth via customization so there was a reason to replay it beyond seeing if I could rack up 4,000 kills instead of just 3,500.

Fun while it lasts. The controls need a lot of tweaking, and the swiping needs a ton of work in terms of sensitivity. I had high hopes for this game, and while it still contains an interesting storyline, the fundamentals need some tweaking.

Twin Blades: The Reaping Vanguard is a great button-masher, and one of the prettiest games in the app store.

This game just has an unexplicable charm to it that makes me come back to it again and again.

Transformers G1 is a solid turn-based strategy game, but it isn't perfect by any means.

It's almost as good looking as Flight Control, if not better, and the design was a major point in this hidden line-drawing game.

Battleheart is the epitome of casual gaming on the App Store. It goes alongside Fruit Ninja, Flight Control, and Canabalt as one of the best casual games I have ever played.

While it does feel Gameloft took a small leap backwards in terms of technological achievement, Splinter Cell Conviction is still a solid game that is enough to have some hours of fun.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. is one of the best dogfighting experiences on the iPhone, but it's still not enough to be the best we've ever seen. It's somewhat difficult and online multiplayer would be such an awesome feature. The storyline is very well done though, and the graphics were amazingly rendered.

The controls in Tilt to Live are flawless and I had no problems performing the incredibly precise movements the game requires.

Such quibbles aside, Thumpies is a roaring good time and well worth checking out.

If you've got an itch for beating monsters senseless, then I can't think of anyone better to scratch it than Tehra. In fact, she can scratch me anytime she likes.

Overall, Sword of Fargoal is currently the best roguelike game in the App Store, and will probably remain so for quite a long time, if not forever.

The repetitiveness usually comes as a side effect of a casual game that went slightly askew, and it seems to be that way with Superfall. I'm not saying that Superfall is a bad game; it's just not a great game.

I enjoyed Super Turbo Action Pig; I love the name, game, and artwork. Gameplay is a bit unoriginal, but The Joystick Generals did a solid job of reinventing gameplay that hasn't exactly done well on the iPhone.

I don't know if it's my emphatic love that spills over onto the new game or the fact that the core game was so perfectly carried over into the new game that makes me so thrilled to play. Whatever you want to call it, it's pure magic to me.

Ultimately, Super Mega Worm is an enjoyable experience after the initial accommodation-period for the controls. While the upgrades provide incentive for replayability, the rather one-dimensional nature of the game keeps it at a "worth a look" recommendation. And remember to recycle kids. The Wyrm is watching you.

Carnivores Ice Age does nothing to improve upon its previous; all it does is provide hunters with an entirely new theme.

Competing against people online is quite exhilarating, and achieving 1st place is always a good feeling.
