NFL Flick Quarterback is a fun arcade game, but I wish there was more. Right now, it's just an overpriced arcade game that doesn't exactly live up to its potential.

Far from perfect when it comes to features, but the gameplay is nearly perfect.

Hardcore RPG fans may find Braveheart's level layout and arcade nature too simplified-as the App Store's RPG offerings can get quite deep these days-there is still a lot of customization and depth offered here and the combat is intriguing.

Blimp HD is a solid, professional, and top-tier game that I'd be thrilled to see on any handheld gaming platform.

The game is a highly enjoyable SRPG with an engrossing story and a wonderful combat system.

Homerun Battle 2, as you can see, makes me quite furious. And disappointed. And shocked.

Modern Combat 3 is absolutely brilliant, and I find myself continually playing the online multiplayer everyday. The single player is also quite robust and diverse, giving Modern Combat 3 a well-balanced gameplay between shooting bad guys and mini-games, such as shooting soldiers on an AC-130.

Shadowgun is a bit more than a tech demo, but it's a lot less than an actual game.

9mm includes some improved voice-acting, great online multiplayer, an interesting storyline, and an overall action-packed adventure that is sure to entice third-person shooter fans. Just note that the game isn't for everyone, and I personally thought the amount of language in this game was really unnecessary.

Absolutely stunning. This stands as one of my all-time favorite games for the iPad, considering the fact that there's so much to do and so little time.

Swords and Soldiers could just be the next best castle defense game on the App Store. But the gameplay balancing really needs some tweaking as does some of the difficulty.

Scribble Show is extremely limited in terms of replay value and gameplay, but the interesting drawing concept of the game is enough for me to not totally write this off as horrible.

All of it is intriguing, interesting, and enjoyable; there's nothing like it on the App Store. It is a little repetitive though, and the graphics and animations really keep it back from being named one of the best on the App Store.

Luxor is another solid marble shooter, but we still have yet to experience a marble shooter that has captured our hearts forever.

Follows the footsteps of both Backbreaker Football and Backbreaker Football II with a fun and addictive gameplay, great animations, and great character models. The UI and other graphical elements do need some work, and the GameCenter needs a bit of fixing up to do.

I love Pulse: Volume One for one reason, and that's because it's unique.

Blade Master is not the App Store's next killer RPG; it just doesn't have the polish necessary to reach such lofty heights. But there's depth to be found, a lengthy quest to be had, and it nails the RPG bases.

Battle for Wesnoth is a solid turn-based strategy game that will continually be in development, a fact that I find some comfort in.

Axion's greatest flaws show its mobile roots. The virtual d-pad used for movement feels restricting and unresponsive, and to a lesser extent so do the attack buttons.

Provides an engaging and entertaining experience for fans of the collectible card-game genre.

It is ABSURD that a game costing $4.99 should be so bogged down by in-app purchase, and all but require you to spend yet more of your money on expendible items.

On one hand, it's beautiful, and the swipe controls work great. It's a bargain at $0.99 including the fact that it's universal, and the game does have its shining moments. Then there's the other hand, which includes the fact that it doesn't have GameCenter achievements, has terrible tilt controls, and that the time constraint does bother at times.

Minor shortcomings aside, Who's That Flying?! is a wonderfully fun game and an easy recommendation. I've been having a blast with it!

An extremely fun game. I would go right on ahead and give it that coveted Must Have award, but there are those small, nitpicky annoyances in there that prevent me from doing so.

It has gotten me hooked and playing for hours at a time-a feat that not many games can boast of-and quite honestly, I think this game is the best "bird" game out of the Big Three.

It's a far shot from Zombieville and there are parts that need to be addressed. But other than that, the developer did an ingenious work with the replay value, a factor that plays into almost all successful iPhone games.

Kami Retro deserves the critical praise it's been getting. It blends some quite familiar styles of gameplay into a distinctive little treat of a game, that's great for short sessions.

The verdict: Land-A Panda is quite average. But the tantalizing price point and the cute graphics seem to balance out the average gameplay, along with the ton of content involved.

A fantastic sandbox game and is one of my most played iPhone games.

All things considered, Fight Night Champion is well worth your time and money, provided that you're willing to adjust to the learning curve and you're looking for a fighting game that rewards persistence and technique over lightning-fast blitzkrieg victories and ridiculous special moves.

Can Knockdown 2 does everything a casual game should do: universal, GameCenter achievements, great graphics, and a simple gameplay mechanic. But, it does get old quickly, and there are only 12 achievements for you to work with.

Simply one of the best fighters I've played on the iPhone. It's got an easy-to-follow storyline, adequate controls, beautiful graphics, and an overall enjoyable gameplay experience.

The Blocks Cometh is an easy recommendation, both to new players as well as to those who previously bought the knock-off. The game is attractive, challenging and rewarding, and nails that just-one-more-time addictiveness factor that makes games easy to pick up and hard to put down.

There's really not much to the game, and the features are pretty much the same as any other Miniclip game: $0.99, GameCenter, and Retina graphics. And for those that downloaded iStunt, iStunt 2 is a welcome addition to the family.

iBlast Moki is the most complete game I have ever encountered. Period. There's no other game that rivals in quality and quantity, a mixture that's absolutely destined to be awesome.

Speed Forge Extreme did a great job with executing with the controls, and the tilt was flawless along with the inclusion of touch controls; another yet flawless implementation.

There's really not many variations in the game. With only one map, there's definitely room for improvement.

Traffic dodge games usually feel pretty generic as the majority do nothing to innovate or enhance the genre in any way. Fortunately, there are a few gems out there like Hit N'Run that take a chance and do something a little different.

After a few hours, I can only describe the experience as boring and repetitive.

Robot Rampage looks good, sounds good, but plays mediocre.

Designed specifically for the iPad, it plays better than any other dual-stick shooter I've tried on the device, it's gorgeous and I've been having a blast with it.

If you never played the game before, are looking for a classic FPS, and already have DOOM and Wolf 3D then you will have a lot of fun with this as well.

Controls still suck.

Anyone looking for a true Ridge Racer experience shouldn't find one here, and with such a lack of true content and more of a DLC extravaganza, Namco has managed to once again destroy a once beautiful franchise.

This game is great… except for the controls.

While Raging Thunder 2 has its flaws, it's still one of the best arcade racers on the iPhone.

Serves as a classic example of how well a physics game can work on the platform, it's addictiveness will see you through to the end, it's charm is almost unparalleled, and perhaps above all it is unique, a rare achievement in these modern times.

There is nothing to dislike about Quell; the game is the very embodiment of relaxation.

It blindsided me from left field, and I'm still in a daze. And now I am going to make a very bold statement, one that will surely incite controversy: It is my considered opinion that Queen's Crown is the best Korean RPG in the App Store.

As match-3 games go, Puzzle Quest 2 is king of the hill.

I had a few moments of fun with it, and it definitely shows the progress Namco has taken on the iPhone. And above all else, I'm more than glad to see only one DLC item in there; one that is reasonably priced and makes sense.

All wishing aside, however, Crystal War is a beautiful, highly entertaining castle-vs-castle game, and one that I heartily recommend.

The game does a wonderful job of rewarding progress without sacrificing accessibility, challenges the player without resorting to cheap tactics or the whimsy of chance, and contains enough content to keep even the most avid puzzlers busy for some time to come.

The game does offer a ton of content, even if much of it on first glance appears repetitive. Tactile Entertainment just might have created your new constant companion.

Somewhat bipolar: the boss encounters are well realized and refreshing, while the level-design only average at best.

Tiny Wings is a good game. But it's extremely raw when it comes to options such as being able to listen to your own music, and it also left out GameCenter on its initial launch. The gameplay is addictive, though, and the artwork isn't too shabby.

I would like to see some improvements in speed and multiplayer match-ups, but other than that, Shadow Era is a game that you won't want to miss out on. Plus, it's free. You can't really get any cheaper than that.

Plants Vs. Zombies goes beyond the game, becoming something more like a phenomenon.

PES 2010 is, at best, a good soccer game. There are a lot of feature and content problems that I know could have been nonexistent had Konami been more creative.

In summary, if you have liked games like the classic Doodle Jump or the newer Bird Strike, you will love Parachute Ninja.

The match-3 mechanics, in my opinion, are quite simple and a bit too unoriginal for my tastes.

Honestly, by the time you've gotten five minutes into Daisy Mae's Alien Buffet, you will have seen just about everything the game has to offer. The only reason to go on playing after that is to unlock the three or four costume changes, as the game has no other staying power.

Overall, Cubed Rally Racer is just an okay game; casual gamers may find it a bit frustrating and ultimately quit for some other game.

While there is some lack of replay value, the overall game was very much worth that $1.99, a price not too far away from the minimal $0.99 price tag.

Despite some shortcomings, Chop Chop Ninja is overall a fun game, a welcome entry to the App Store's mostly underwhelming line-up of ninja titles, and likely to be the last sleeper hit of 2009.

Chop Chop Caveman may be the best prehistoric platformer since Bonk's Adventure, and the best Chop Chop game yet.

The AI is slightly under the AI for FIFA 10.

While the accelerometer is quite fluid, many of the games key controls are hard to access.

Vector Tanks EXTREME is not for the faint of heart. But if action is your drug, then VTX is like crack.

Vanquish: The Oath of Brothers is a hack-and-slash button-masher with an excellent story, good controls, and striking visuals. I really liked it, but I do wish it had a touch more depth via customization so there was a reason to replay it beyond seeing if I could rack up 4,000 kills instead of just 3,500.

Fun while it lasts. The controls need a lot of tweaking, and the swiping needs a ton of work in terms of sensitivity. I had high hopes for this game, and while it still contains an interesting storyline, the fundamentals need some tweaking.

Twin Blades: The Reaping Vanguard is a great button-masher, and one of the prettiest games in the app store.

This game just has an unexplicable charm to it that makes me come back to it again and again.

Transformers G1 is a solid turn-based strategy game, but it isn't perfect by any means.

It's almost as good looking as Flight Control, if not better, and the design was a major point in this hidden line-drawing game.

Battleheart is the epitome of casual gaming on the App Store. It goes alongside Fruit Ninja, Flight Control, and Canabalt as one of the best casual games I have ever played.

While it does feel Gameloft took a small leap backwards in terms of technological achievement, Splinter Cell Conviction is still a solid game that is enough to have some hours of fun.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. is one of the best dogfighting experiences on the iPhone, but it's still not enough to be the best we've ever seen. It's somewhat difficult and online multiplayer would be such an awesome feature. The storyline is very well done though, and the graphics were amazingly rendered.

The controls in Tilt to Live are flawless and I had no problems performing the incredibly precise movements the game requires.

Such quibbles aside, Thumpies is a roaring good time and well worth checking out.

If you've got an itch for beating monsters senseless, then I can't think of anyone better to scratch it than Tehra. In fact, she can scratch me anytime she likes.

Overall, Sword of Fargoal is currently the best roguelike game in the App Store, and will probably remain so for quite a long time, if not forever.

The repetitiveness usually comes as a side effect of a casual game that went slightly askew, and it seems to be that way with Superfall. I'm not saying that Superfall is a bad game; it's just not a great game.

I enjoyed Super Turbo Action Pig; I love the name, game, and artwork. Gameplay is a bit unoriginal, but The Joystick Generals did a solid job of reinventing gameplay that hasn't exactly done well on the iPhone.

I don't know if it's my emphatic love that spills over onto the new game or the fact that the core game was so perfectly carried over into the new game that makes me so thrilled to play. Whatever you want to call it, it's pure magic to me.

Ultimately, Super Mega Worm is an enjoyable experience after the initial accommodation-period for the controls. While the upgrades provide incentive for replayability, the rather one-dimensional nature of the game keeps it at a "worth a look" recommendation. And remember to recycle kids. The Wyrm is watching you.

Carnivores Ice Age does nothing to improve upon its previous; all it does is provide hunters with an entirely new theme.

Competing against people online is quite exhilarating, and achieving 1st place is always a good feeling.

Overall, despite some minor gripes that can be fixed with updates such as deathmatch multiplayer, or lock-on controls, Star Batallion is a great flight-sim package that is very arcade-like in execution at times, but offers solid twitch-gameplay and challenge, with great presentation and graphics.

Being of solid concept and immaculate presentation, Spirit is an easy recommendation.

At first glance it looks like just another copycat, but dig a little deeper and you will find a complex game with much to offer.

But I'm a sucker for space shooters and now it's turned me completely on my head. I've been mining the app store for gems, and in Space Miner I've struck pay dirt. Like comets, games like this are rarely seen. Don't let this one pass you by.

Although there are no surprises for those familiar with this type of game, The Settlers does deliver where it is expected.

While I usually shy away from social games, especially those Facebook-driven, Buddy Rush is undeniably fun.

League of Evil is a rare find, a game that excels at short, quick bursts of gaming, but which also holds up in longer play sessions.

If you just can't live without some sort of sci-fi themed dual-stick shooter where you kill robots and there are different maps, it might be just the thing for you. But for my money, there are more exciting experiences available in this genre on the iOS platform.

The game controls well, combat is loads of fun and the action never stops. OMG Pirates! should not be missed.

Not only does the game take forever to get started, but you'll swear it's loading even as you play. Even with the speed cranked up, the game just feels sluggish.
