There are times when Marvel's Avengers shines in all its glory, be it introspective sequences, small but delicious lines, or absolutely spectacular scenes. The problems of the game are quite clear, but we must keep in mind that in a few months this game could tell us a different story.

The idea of enriching the structure of a typical top down shooter with some adventure elements is fascinating, but unfortunately it doesn't work well. In D.A.R.K. you often have to explore an area to reach a certain number of switches, then fight a wave of zombies and evil creatures, but the overall action is quite repetitive and poorly balanced.

Astria Ascending is a competent old-school JRPG with a satisfying combat system and some fun platforming exploration, but not a very compelling story or cast.

Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster is a nice enhanced edition of a good episode of the Capcom series, with some interesting cooperative mechanics.

A good campaign, the marine one, and some variety in gameplay mechanics provide a quite fun experience. Unfortunately some ideas lack polish and the other two-thirds of the single player are just not as good as they were supposed to be.

Serious Sam 4 doesn't betray expectations but those who expected something more than the same old stuff will probably be disappointed.

UnEpic delivers an unoriginal but well written story, packed with some funny lines; a solid action platform gameplay, full of back tracking and respawn; and some hardcore RPG elements. The end result is a game that hardly lends itself to interpretations: you either love it or hate it.

Recompile is a game that promised a lot but in reality is lost in itself. All the gameplay mechanics are dull and shallow, especially within a structure much more linear than it may seem at first.

Fable Anniversary is still a fun game and its drawbacks lay inside the original game's faults and game design choices. Beneath all of these, there's still a fun game worth exploring if you didn't have the chance ten years ago.

Skydance's Behemoth is a powerful, epic, and incredible game, just like the colossi roaming the Wastelands. At the same time, however, it is an adventure that could have benefited from more variety: not a must-have for all headset owners, but undoubtedly a recommended experience for those who love fantasy tones and are looking for a game with visceral combat. Skydance's Behemoth is therefore yet another good VR adventure released at the end of a year that had, instead, started off on the wrong foot. Hopefully, this is not just a lucky exception and that 2025 will continue on a trend where we find ourselves wearing a headset more and more often to experience memorable adventures.

Ninja Blade is a good game, fast and furious as its stepfather Ninja Gaiden. Besides a good use of the weapons and the environments, its impossible not to mention the extensive recur to the quick time events and a pretty simplistic combat system.

Soulstice is first of all a technical action game a la Devil May Cry and, while not reaching the peaks of the genre, it defends itself very well and knows how to entertain. The variety of weapons and situations is discreet, but unfortunately the setting repeats itself too often, boring the player's eye. The plot is accurate even if not original or exciting, but it does its duty. If you are looking for a game that lets you have fun with controllers in hand, you have found it. It is a first step, mind you, and there is room for improvement in view of a following, but perhaps for this reason it would be worth supporting an Italian team that has something of its own to say.

Monopoly is a great game, and Fortune Street does nothing to improve it, or to add something that only a videogame can do. There is an online mode, but sadly it's hard to find other players. A great board game, but just a decent videogame.

Daedalic Entertainment crafted a massive galaxy of planets for players to explore. Unfortunately the game mechanics are really too simple to play with, and it became an issue after just few hours in to the game. Despite that, if you love exploration and you are in need of killing time, give it a try.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a damn intriguing racing game that focuses on refining specific aspects of a solid and engaging driving experience. Taking the wheel of one of the available cars and diving into fast-paced, challenging races is genuinely thrilling, especially as you follow the protagonist’s journey through the clever and charming manga-style comic panels. Unfortunately, the experience doesn’t shine as brightly when it comes to navigating its otherwise atmospheric Japanese open world, which ends up feeling a bit too cluttered with obstacles and inept drivers to serve as the added value one might reasonably expect from such a setup.

Warriors Abyss is a not particularly ambitious roguelite, but still has interesting ideas. The graphics are bad, the story to be ignored and the arenas too banal. At the same time, however, it is always pleasant to wipe out hundreds of enemies and the power-up system is full of possibilities and combinations, really giving us the feeling of having turned our warrior into a hellish god capable of destroying entire armies. If you like musou but especially roguelites, you should give it a serious look while waiting for bigger names.
