Bravely Default HD Remaster is a competent release which polishes a beloved classic: still fun and engaging, it doesn't really bolster anything game changing but small improvements to quality of life and visuals.

Unless you can't live without a few new pokémon, Pokémon Ultrasun is a must have if and only if you still haven't played neither Sun or Moon. Postgame content is meatier but most of the game looks and plays too similar to Sun or Moon.

The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark is an irreverent expression of the paranormal imagery that we usually find in today's TV series. The title's biggest flaw is its longevity, which we would have expected greater given its sequel nature.

Aces & Adventures is a nice and well-executed mix of Poker and Magic. It takes a few hours to get into the loop and realize the various strategic possibilities made available by the cards of the five heroes, but at that point it becomes quite enjoyable. The storyline behind MyRise is interesting, while the changes made to other classic modes aren’t substantial enough to make them feel fresh for those who have already invested a lot of time in these contents. On the gameplay side, the experience suffers from stiffness and interaction issues that should have been addressed by now, while the visuals range from stunning to downright ugly and outdated: the full-price toll for a franchise that is increasingly struggling with its annual release cycle.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is simply an excellent game. Fun, varied, dynamic, full of things to find. The combat system picks up on the style of the first chapter, but thanks to a slightly more rigid structure, pushes us to make the most of all the moves at our disposal. The setting is beautiful, with many perfectly designed areas and a soundtrack that seems to grab your heart and squeeze it tightly. It's just a pity that the plot leaves something to be desired, with underused characters and a not very interesting plot.

Like Hitman GO before it, Lara Croft GO is basically the same mobile game, only with a higher price tag and a handful of new content. It’s still a brilliant puzzle, but if you own a smartphone it’s hard to recommend this version. 

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! is a very good remake but it shares a few issues with the first game in the series, namely goofy controls and extremely frustrating moments.

The Binding of Isaac is a small game with very simple mechanics, but it will catch you with its huge amount of contents, great soundtrack and polished graphics. Eventually the flow of new items and bosses will start ending, but before then, those are indeed the best five bucks you can spend in a while.

Shark Dash isn't just an Angry Birds clone, even if the inspiration is pretty clear. Good Sharks vs evil ducks is a funny contrast, and the water enviroment gives an original touch to the game.

Surely a much more mainstream and accessible game compared to the first one; despite that, Gaijin Games managed to create another great product that everyone should at least try.

Rome: Total War is a deep, multifaceted strategy game even on iPhone. The game offers a great number of different situations, interesting managing sections and different modes for a long-lasting entertainment.

Patrick's Parabox is brilliant, there's no other way to say it. It starts with a small idea and expands it again and again, mixing each new insight with the previous one to create larger and larger and more interesting puzzles. It offers lots of content, administered quickly to the player, with lots of optional levels, allowing the more experienced to test themselves and those who struggle a bit more to advance by completing only the easier sections.

Lost in Play is a good adventure with a great style and whimsical, sometimes dreamlike and always humorous tone. It is quite short and not so challenging, but it's surely an experience to be remembered.

Mediterranea Inferno is a successful work with a strong expressive force, in which one can indulge with pleasure while following the events of the three main characters. There is current affairs, there is politics, there is artistic vision, there is psychology. In short, in its own way, it's a beautiful fresco. It's a shame about some dialogues that are a bit too didactic, driven by a certain exhibitionistic anxiety, which clashes a bit with everything else, to the point that sometimes it makes you want to look at the images alone, without reading anything. There are also some minor technical issues, however. Give it a try.

Despite some shadows and a not-so-deep game mechanic, Waking Mars is an amazing adventure game, with great atmosphere and wonderful sound design. A top notch experience from the developers behind Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor.

Electronic Arts once again offers the best gaming experience for all lovers of football. FIFA 14 isn’t a major landmark for the series in terms of innovation, but the changes have such a significant effect on physic and gameplay.

News Tower is a tycoon game that puts you in the shoes of a communications magnate running a newspaper in New York’s roaring Thirties. The player is offered countless possibilities: you can choose an editorial line that highlights certain topics, or even try to go where the wind blows by aligning yourself with the interests of the city’s political forces, such as the mayor and organized crime. As in any job, routine eventually starts to weigh on you, and the sense of instability becomes palpable. It’s hard to stay afloat without turning to the banks, which sooner or later will come after you to collect their interest. Worth noting is the excellent historical reconstruction based on real news stories from the months, weeks, and years in which the game is set as a result of Sparrow Night’s careful and elegant research.

After the missteps of the previous installment, FIFA 16 delivers new modes, new game elements and great balancing between attacking and defending.
