By far the most unique and interesting portion of The Thing is the controls and gameplay.

An impressive game that reeks of addictive potential. If the despot in you wants some exercising, then this is definitely the way to go.

Doesn't revolutionise the genre but makes it easily accessible and fun to play. The addition of multiplayer as well as the endless mode has put this game up there with the best of the tycoon games.

The control scheme is fresh and unique, even though it isn’t implemented the way in which it probably was meant to be.

Not all that amazing in both storyline and excitement.

Spike tried way too hard in making this like "Gran Turismo" that they forgot the fact that they had to actually develop the game themselves.

The controls are a lot harder on the Dual Shock 2 than they were with the keyboard and mouse, but you will get use to it once you break a few controllers and have a see your psychiatrist a few times.

Broadband users are the ones that will truly benefit from the experience though, as you can have up to 8 players go head to head in death-match mayhem with virtually no lag most of the time. This is about as fun as you will get with an online game on a console for the time being.

The excellent storyline, huge environment, fantastic graphics and superb voice acting create an atmosphere which is unmatched in any PC game today.

The headset does a great job to add a lot of realism to the game online and offline.

The steep learning curve, slow pace and intense resource management will deter far too many. For those who just can’t get enough micromanagement and love having total control over everything, this is your game.

While probably not being able to match up to "World Series Baseball" in terms of depth and such, the game’s arcade style brings a fresh viewpoint to the genre that some of the sims may take part in later down the line.

The gameplay in The Thing is very unique and complex, but does a terrific job to put you right in the middle of the action as you control yourself and your squad.

With so many ways to kill your enemies, you will never get bored of the same sort of stuff every gunfight.

The lack of any real college atmosphere leaves you wondering whether or not you are even playing a college football game. The unbalanced controls and strategies do a lot of harm as well.

With the PC version now using the console engine, more atmospheric gameplay, new moves and strategies for the players and coaches as well as the online features Madden 2003 is one of the most full featured gridiron simulations in recent years.

Only if more time was spent on the visuals and gameplay than adding in more shirts and shoes, this game could have dethroned the competition.

The visuals and sound are very well done, as the only drawback to the game is that it is very difficult to pull off tricks at times.

A huge advancement over last year’s poor efforts...probably the best GameDay to date, but it is still not enough to match the polish and quality of "NFL 2K3" or Madden.

A very lackluster effort... The gambling and clothing options are very cool, but it can get old fast once you start to play the game and see how unbalanced the physics of the game are.

The Create a Player and added theater mode aren't enough of a game addition to justify upgrading from last years version, unless of course your one of those insane fans that has to have the most recent stats for all the players.

Everything from the visuals to the controls and soundtrack were all taken straight from the original games, as the only rewarding thing is the mini-games. Even the new city based on Las Vegas fails to bring it up from the grave.
