Those who know what to expect from Harvest Moon will find here one of the best titles of the series. To those not familiar with the gameplay, we recommend the game with some caution, since it’s slow and repetitive mechanic, while captivating, will bore the less patient and frustrate those with little time to invest in the discovery of the hidden treasures of a country life. In this effort to regain the title, PES plays it safe and recovers the classic gameplay that conquered the players in the last decade. But while it can be enough to hold on the fans, the reused formula and the comeback of the same old flaws can be a growing problem for the future. [Oct 2008]

We live in a complicated age for all sandbox games, after "GTA IV". Saints Row 2 is a victim of that comparison, because while it has some elements that are better than the Rockstar game, it can’t satisfy in the technical aspect. In fact, it has some huge technical issues, which not even the co-op, the good customization tools or the mindless fun allow to be overlooked. [Oct 2008]

Falling short of the excellence usually offered by Bioware, as it invests in some repetitive elements of exploration and combat, this game has a simple mechanic, puzzles and a nice tactical element in battles. Still terribly fun with its competitive online modes and a great use of the Wii Wheel. And at the end of the day, it presents the traditional polished and shiny look of all of Nintendo’s big guns that we simply love. [May 2008]

Square Enix proves that J-RPG doesn’t have to stick with a pre-formatted formula, offering a modern environment, a combat mechanic free of random encounters, and a adjustable difficulty that maintains the challenge to the player. Essential to all DS owners. [June 2008]

It will frustrate even its core audience with the absence of recovery items, limited inventory and the need to keep your pokemons well fed. It’s also a very repetitive game. There are a lot a better alternative for fans, all of them with less penalties. [July 2008]

It’s not perfect and can be easily criticized for the lack of customization of the online races and the absence of damages. But it’s far from being a simple demo and has a lot of reasons that fans of series should be interested in. It’s well worth the investment. [Apr 2008]

Most of the obstacles will require you to change constantly between characters and thus keeping you occupied. Although level design could need a little more variety it's still a nice proposition for those who like platform games. [May 2008]

Just in case you’re great fans of long journeys inside dungeons, almost no conversation and don’t mind restarting from zero every time you die…you can probably find it somewhat interesting. But the majority of players will turn their backs at this concept. [July 2008]

It’s the culmination of a very long development that presents itself as one of the first good surprises of the year. It doesn’t have the intention to innovate, especially when compared to Resident Evil 4, but its solid gameplay mechanics, alongside with some great visuals, make for a great experience. Especially for those who like visceral action. [Apr 2008]

This is a genre craving for more quality titles on the 360. And with three distinct races, a global conquest mode and almost thirty Skirmish maps, Universe at War could have been one of those titles. But sadly, it fails to attract any new players. [May 2008]

In spite of its somewhat repetitive rhythm, Viking manages to offer to the player a great sense of accomplishment. It keeps us moving forward with the promise (always fulfilled) of some epic action sequences. The combat system is the result of a well balanced act between depth and accessibility. [Apr 2008]

Opoona offers to younger players a simple control mechanic, fun to use in combat. Even so, the missions are very repetitive and the random combats could not be the best to captivate new players, who usually prefer more paced action. [Oct 2008]

Above all, it’s well worth just for its incredible atmosphere of pure tension, with the help of the technical side of things that work “for” the game instead of enslaving it. The first person action has an even more physical approach than in the original game and delivers a more “personal” experience. [Apr 2008]

While retaining the relaxed and accessible attitude of the franchise, it proves to be a great alternative for those who don’t like the seriousness of Tiger Woods. And if you take in consideration the type of strokes, certainly appreciated by the golf purists, and the online inclusion, it’s easy to understand that this title will be able to garner even more fans. Sumo Digital managed to offer simple but well implemented gameplay. Some of the stages and mini-games are fun, even if it’s only for the nostalgic ride. But they don’t make up for the fact that we miss some more tennis matches. Anyway, if you ever dreamt of seeing the dwarf from Golden Axe in the same stage as Ulala and Amigo…you might as well give it a try. [Apr 2008]

When it comes to tactical shooters, it’s hard to find anything better than this. While the previous title already offered brilliant gameplay, Vegas 2 still manages to introduce some minor touches that make it even better. But although it’s a great multiplayer experience it still doesn’t manage to deliver the definite co-op formula. [Apr 2008]
