Only by playing Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy can players discover Bourne's true identity and experience the very moment he became a malfunctioning weapon, first hunting targets around the world as a deadly government assassin then marking himself as his agency’s most wanted. As a third-person espionage action game, players move from fistfights to firefights to experience sequences that blend Bourne's signature hand-to-hand combat with intense shooting and the ability to escape and evade deadly situations. 1. I was completely expecting this game to literally suck, but in fact it is well done and very fun game that does the Bourne name justice.
  2. It’s not a perfect action game by any stretch, but one that does keep the player engaged from point to point—and that’s all you can ask.
  3. It's rare to see a movie game that is enjoyable in its own right. Even without the Bourne license, Conspiracy would be a great action game. It blends two totally different gameplay styles together and delivers them in quick, intense bursts.
  4. It captures the setting perfectly, going straight to the point. This also makes the experience somewhat short and repetitive, but it manages to be exhilarating at times.
  5. It delivers a well-paced and intense experience that is ultimately very satisfying and surprisingly faithful to its film counterpart, provided that you accept that it doesn't set out to reinvent, or even excel in any one area of gameplay.
  6. Genuinely translating an action film is hardly done with as much effort as High Moon Studios has put into it. Although the combat suffers from a lack of refinement and complexity, it still keeps up with the vigorous pace and calculated intensity of Jason Bourne.
  7. Its gameplay mechanics are abysmal in almost every conceivable way. Its story is nonsensical at best, sacreligious at worst. Its entire running time is completely disrespectful to the player's intelligence, assuming that if the character models and locations change, the player won't realize he's getting into the exact same gun battles and fistfights he engaged in at the very start of the game. Looking at The Bourne Conspiracy as a list of bullet points, it is an undoubtedly awful game...But why, then, did I have fun with it?

The gameplay and camera give it a unique cinematic quality seen in the movies. In terms of quality, this game isGiven it's another game based on a film, I was expecting a 4/10 game. I was pleased to be proven otherwise. In terms of quality, this game is as you'd expect - mediocre. There are some glitches here and there, and checkpoints aren't always as well-placed as they could be (especially for Assassin difficulty). What annoys me is that when you've spent 5 minutes clearing out loads of enemies and get to a cutscene, you take your hands off the controller to itch and boom, you've failed because of a quick-time event. That said, the QTEs are actually a strength of this game. There are some cool features in the game, such as the adrenaline meter for cinematic takedowns (involving QTEs) and Bourne Instinct (as adopted by Arkham Asylum). These takedowns not only make you feel like you're watching Bourne in the film but also act as a vital combat tool which adds variety and resets the pace of a heated battle. In terms of game mechanics, the Bourne Conspiracy is surprising robust. The hand-to-hand combat can be described as a somewhat basic "Cinematic Tekken". There aren't many combinations so it does get repetitive, but despite this the boss fights are intense, satisfying and make you feel like you're controlling Bourne as he is in the movies, so it does the job. Shooting-wise, the game is solid too. One big gun, one side-arm, all real weapons and good cover system. The lower field of view when your weapon is drawn and the simple dot crosshair mean there's no aim assist, and the realistic ammo capacity emphasizes accuracy. Being accurate is as difficult as it needs to be. Enemies take a realistic number of shots to die, and the hit detection is good. The controls - as with everything else in the game - are simple, but feel like they were more designed for the PS3 controller than 360 one. The achievements are exhaustive of everything in the game, and are all offline. Graphics, being on Unreal Engine 3, are standard, and do a good enough job; especially when compared to other movie-games. Overall, the Bourne Conspiracy is definitely a game you should consider if you have any interest in the classic Bourne Identity film. Some of the classic scenes are remade with the game engine and you get to play some of the parts as they happen in the movie. There are also some levels which were not in the film but give more of a background to it. It's not a straight port of the film to the game, but there are some parts of the film, which is good because you can see how the story connects and even understand the film a bit better. By nature, the game is VERY scripted and you cannot deviate from the set pieces, but then again you don't need to, since this is more of a cinematic, interactive Bourne movie rather than a free-roam game. The bottom line is, if you wanted a game which can make you feel like Matt Damon in the Bourne Identity, this does an excellent job. The difficulty is just right so it's very satisfying at points. Este jogo se fosse pouco mais refinado parte tiroteio seria ótimo mais valeu por ter jogado lembra bem o primeiro filme da trilogia. Expand

The set pieces are awesome and quite fun to execute, while the hand to hand fighting is probably one of the best seen on this generation. But the shooting, driving and general A.I. is abysmal. Which makes the game unplayable after time. Good, but six hours too long. Expand
