The Last of Us Part II is a third person action game, a survival horror, an immersive sim, a walking Simulator, and snippets of so many others, all at the same time. Without the immensity of an open world, it masterfully emulates the sense of freedom, and without the classic features of an RPG, it has allowed us to make the characters our own. Or rather, the other way around. It is an evolution for the genre in terms of technical aspects and an exercise in maturity in terms of how it deals with its themes. Despite some sloppiness, it holds the highest of standards and sets the mold for what should be the next generation of AAA games.- Malditos Nerds

Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics may not be the definitive party game; it may have show some obtuse design, but, with this game, Nintendo is adding another unique proposal to its catalog, with the potential to keep us entertained and occupied almost indefinitely. Naturally, I highly recommend it.- Malditos Nerds

Disintegration is a hybrid between FPS and RTS that ultimately fails to deliver a satisfying experience on both ends. Its uninspired singleplayer campaign is filled with technical issues during cinematics and during missions. I never felt like I was having fun while playing the same type of objectives over and over again. Not even the somewhat decent multiplayer modes can save Disintegration from falling short of its expectations.- Malditos Nerds

Those Who Remain can work if you are looking for simple scares. The atmosphere works well and puzzles are based on some very good concepts. But the rest of the elements simple ruin the experience, even when the game tries it hard to include story choices to be more complex. With so many other similar and better games out there, there is no reason to recommend it.- Malditos Nerds

Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath succeeds in everything. The story is highly entertaining, the new characters are very interesting and even the free content adds much more to a game that already had many good elements. But nothing that can be said takes away the fact that Aftermath is expensive for those who already have the game. It is especially frustrating considering that there are more DLC characters in development, and that surely next year we will have a new collection that for $60 that includes everything again.- Malditos Nerds

Petroglyph Games and Lemon Sky Studios did a more than acceptable work in both the graphic and sound aspects of this remastered, polishing even the smallest detail and giving users the possibility to add content freely, where we will find an enormous amount of fresh stuff to try. We will, once again, put on our commander's uniform to solve international conflicts in the best warlike manner.- Malditos Nerds

Minecraft Dungeons is a missed opportunity in every sense. After playing the first map, the formula is constantly repeated, only differing in terms of colors and the paths to take. The main story goes completely unnoticed, to the point that you forget about the main goal. The best way to enjoy it is in co-op mode, because, once the story mode is over, it has nothing else that can surprise us.- Malditos Nerds

The Wonderful 101 Remastered is a game that definitely has style, personality, and attitude. However, during the process of leaving the WiiU behind, it has lost some of its charm. This is a remastering work that feels right, but it's also awkward sometimes due to how it solves some Wii U's features such as dual-screen mechanics.- Malditos Nerds

The remastered version of Saints Row: The Third feels like a wasted opportunity. If in addition to dealing with the technical aspect, Sperasoft would hve polished the playable experience a bit, updated the AI and solved the most obvious problems, perhaps it would have been worth revisiting it 9 years later.- Malditos Nerds

Someday You’ll Return is an incredible game with some slips that tarnish the experience. These problems don't ruin the game, of course, but they prevent it from being a must-play. Anyway, it manages to be a recommendable title and, above all, a different one: a breath of fresh air in the first-person horror genre.- Malditos Nerds

Maneater is more than entertaining with a good quality product, good control, great map design and a story of sea revenge full of surprises. It may not be a game of the year, but it's still a great game, funny with a very dark sense of humor.- Malditos Nerds

Riot Games enters the world of card games with Legends of Runeterra, a more than interesting title for lovers collectible card games. It's highly recommended, especially for newcomers who are not sure about getting into card games: Legends of Runeterra is going to be one of the best they will find.- Malditos Nerds

Predator: Hunting Grounds has good ideas: it's more than interesting that Soldiers and the Predator face each other on a "living" map where there are missions to complete, AI-controlled squadrons and animals to hunt. But in practice, it fails completely. Missions are boring, the AI has unforgivable errors and the maps are few and all the same. Illfonic can fix matchmaking and balance issues with a patch, but fixing the rest will take much more work.- Malditos Nerds

The Flower Collectors, with a simple story, shows to what extent society can normalize human rights violations, homophobia, transphobia and demonization of artists to the point of kidnapping, torture and organized murder. These themes aren't much common in the gaming industry, and this game is much worth it because of the way it tackles them.- Malditos Nerds

Cloudpunk is a beautiful cyberpunk adventure when it comes to exploring the city and knowing every little story among its neighborhoods and sky roads. It is a shame that some of its gameplay mechanics are not funny or coherent. Ultimately, the game is worth it for the lore, the characters and the story that will motivate us to play until the end.- Malditos Nerds

The best thing about Streets of Rage 4 is that it feels like a real comeback. In a world where everyone is rummaging through an old toy drawer to see what movie, series or game can be revived, this title feels like a natural step in the franchise. Of course, it's not a revolution in the genre because it repeats both virtues and failures from the past. Streets of Rage is back to stay.- Malditos Nerds

Valve has once again tried to revolutionize the gaming industry with a Half-Life game. With Alyx they've tackled the complicated realm of VR creating an experience miles ahead of anything available in this format. It's way more than just a spin off or an experiment from Valve, it's a game that can stand toe to toe with all the other chapters of this iconic saga. In a certain way, Valve finally gave us a third Half-Life game and it was worth the wait.- Malditos Nerds

Final Fantasy VII Remake is undoubtedly among the best of 2020. The first part of this remake meets every expectation, beyond its technical problems, and we are already hyped of what is to come. I dare say that it is one of the best installments in the series so far and I hope that this will become a new quality standard for Square Enix.- Malditos Nerds

With a distinct cinematic and fast pace approach, Gears Tactics puts its own spin in the genre. While it borrows many things from games like Xcom it is also able to mix the essence of what has made the Gears franchise so popular. The action feels intense, dynamic and the experience can be adapted to many difficulties. Gears Tactics has been a welcome surprise.- Malditos Nerds

XCOM: Chimera Squad is an interesting experience that's not a revolution in the strategy genre, but it feels really fresh in the series. The new mechanics suit the game very well and the shortcomings reveal this is a budget title. It's a smaller game than XCOM installments, but it doesn't fall short of content. Firaxis Games knows this and offers it at a reduced price, posing it as an experimental spin-off, preparing us for what will come in XCOM 3.- Malditos Nerds

This new version of Below is "more of the same", but, at the same time, it offers something different. With a clear separation between Survival Mode and Exploration Mode, the game now has something appealing both for gamers looking for an extreme challenge, and for those who want a slightly more bearable experience.- Malditos Nerds

If Animal Crossing was always a very simple concept with very complex features, New Horizons is a toy hammer with the capacity to forge a universe, powered by each player's imagination. It's must-have game in the library of every Nintendo Switch user that perfectly exemplifies Nintendo's idiosyncrasy. Similar to a bonsai, It offers something that can be cared for and appreciated every single day.- Malditos Nerds

Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories is a fascinating and charming game. While it looks like a game from the past generation in technical terms, it's still a rather unique adventure. Combining a situation not often seen in video games with a cast of characters with memorable stories, this game really offers an experience that, once you get hooked, is very difficult to drop. The wait may have been too long, but Disaster Report 4 is totally worth it.- Malditos Nerds

DOOM Eternal will not have the same impact as that Doom 2016 game did, but when it puts the pedal to the metal, there is no comparison. DOOM Eternal is an injection of pure adrenaline with intense combats that demand a lot from players, leaving us extremely satisfied when we complete them. The Doom Slayer's legend is in good hands and we will continue to enjoy his destructive power for a long time, because his battle is eternal and our spirit is unwavering.- Malditos Nerds

Resident Evil 3 as a survival horror hits the spot, and, as a remake, it's another great game by Capcom. It feels less unique and less ambitious compared to Resident Evil 2 which, arriving earlier, inevitably kicked in with all its surprises and ended up being the basis for this sequel. Comparisons are inevitable, but this does not mean that Resident Evil 3 does not live up to the expectations, especially with what Nemesis means, a monster that's been causing nightmares for more than 20 years. It's an essentially faithful remake, with few shortcomings and just the right changes to make it worthwhile both for fans and newcomers alike.- Malditos Nerds

Stela is a beautiful visual experience. The sound design is magnificent too and, together with the art direction, they create a beautiful world. But while it is not a bad game, it is bland and even boring. There is nothing special about Stela, specially if we compare it with all those similar platformers such as Limbo, Inside or even Another World.- Malditos Nerds
