One of the year's most cozy experiences so far. Image & Form Games has taken the charm of previous games and merged it with a fast battle system that never feels boring. Together with the wonderful environments and the funny dialogue, we have a game that, in its best moments, is reminiscent of the feeling of the very best in the genre.

The latest installment in the Sniper Elite series is better looking than ever. On the other hand the gameplay feels a bit uninspired, mainly due to lack of realism and a really silly plot.

It's difficult not to be delighted that the most misunderstood Final Fantasy game is finally getting another chance to shine. As we all known, Squall and the rest of the Seed gangs adventures are a bit difficult to keep up with, especially for those who are used to the traditional stories from other games. And we probably would have preferred that all the characters in the game received the same treatment as our main characters regarding models. But we still dare to say that anyone who looks beyond the unusual, and gives part eight a fair chance, can look forward to perhaps the most unique game in the series.

Gears Tactics is exactly what the series needed after six similar titles. It introduces a whole new way to explore the Locust infested environments but also retains what makes the series so great. The battles are really addictive and the only thing really missing here is a multiplayer mode.

Valhalla takes us on an emotional roller coaster between hope and disappointment. From a very strong start, to disastrous first few hours of play, to regaining our confidence once again when we discover the many layers and nuances that are hidden in the game. All accompanied by a fantastic story, which is lost in a mess of bugs and lag. Valhalla has all the potential to become a really good game, but stumbles on the execution.

Although Yakuza Kiwami does fall into the same routine as Yakuza 0, the new new sections with Majima are truly exceptional. Nevertheless, it does not change the fact that Kiwami feels like an expansion rather than a sequel.

Blood and Truth is in many ways a perfect game-incarnation of a stupid action movie. You shoot and run while stuff keeps exploding all around - but thanks to the great gunplay and varied levels it never gets boring. If you want to feel like a real action movie hero, this game is for you.

It's easy to judge Sword & Shield as a quick cash grab during it's first hours. The rich and complex story from Sun & Moon is all gone in favor for a more classic Pokémon story with no flimsy side tracks. Graphically, it is also not as impressive as other major titles from Nintendo. But what we get instead shows a willingness to take the series forward with new, fresh features with Dynamax and the open world hub that is the Wild Area. And in the end the fight is the most important thing in a Pokémon game. When we're in the middle of a gigantic and crowded stadium, enjoying the most dynamic battles of a Pokémon game, it's hard to think of anything else. Then we realize that Pokémon should be all about becoming "the very best." Everything else is secondary.

For those who already own New Super Mario Bros U, this upgrade is really not worth full price. However, it does not take away the fact that it's still one of the absolute best experiences for four players.

All in all, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is not a large-scale return, but not a disaster either. The fact that the single player campaign is back and is of course welcomed. It's is very ambitious but most of the time it feels like we are getting more of the same. And that more of the same right now feels mostly old.

Ghost Giant is a touching adventure filled with simple puzzles, cozy environments and a story of joy and sorrow. If you are looking for a challenging experience this is not for you though. Instead it is more of an interactive story with simple but enjoyable gameplay. And most importantly; a great and memorable little tale.

Despite being over 20 years old, Diablo II is a true classic and offers gameplay that holds up very well even today. However, the graphics do not, which makes it fitting that this remaster lovingly repaints the exterior but leaves most of the interior intact. Some parts would have benefited from some modernization however, and the unstable yet more or less mandatory online service can lead to great frustration and in some cases even loss of progress. An unnecessary fault in an otherwise superb remaster.

Twelve and a half years have passed since the last great Ace Combat game. Fortunately, Project Aces have ignored recent years' failures and instead delivers a game that might be the best in the series. Sure, we would have liked some more memorable missions, a more cohesive story and a better checkpoint system. But other than that, there is not much to complain about. The sky and airplanes look wonderful, while the improved physics makes the flying feel better than ever - not least thanks to the well-made weather effects. Gameplay-wise Ace Combat 7 is the best flight action game ever, and an absolute must for all everyone who dreamed about sitting in a fighter jet.

After several years of mistreatment and neglect Crash Bandicoot makes a grand comeback with Nsane Trilogy; a collection consisting of the Bandicoot's first three adventures carefully remade with shiny new graphics and a few other notable improvements. While the Crash Bandicoot games never came close to the quality of Nintendos Mario, this collection is still surprisingly enjoyable for both old and new players.

Gravity Rush 2 is a colorful, cheerful and action packed adventure that does not look nor play like anything else. The camera and controls will take some time to get used to and may annoy at times, but overall Gravity Rush 2 is a very polished and enjoyable experience.

Although it is somewhat outdated with regard to some elements, Borderlands Game of the year edition is still proof that some things were better in the past. Local four player mode is something we miss enormously in today's games. But best of all is that the update is free for PC players.

Mario Party Superstars is a return to the format that works best for the series. It collects some of the very best mini-games of all time, scattered over the years on five of the series most iconic game boards. But best of all - it is fully playable no matter what type of controller you may have at home. A must for game gatherings in company of good friends.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War can best be described as Shadow of Mordor with extra of everything. Just like the first one, it's ambitious, addictive and easy to pick up. The gameplay tends to be a bit repetitive, but in every other way Shadow of War is a nearly perfect action game.

Judgment has everything that makes Yakuza such a unique experience. From crazy side quests and super serious story bits to classic arcade games and intuitive battles. But it's also a fresh new beginning with new interesting characters and exciting fresh gameplay mechanics, making it a great entry point for newcomers and a welcome return for old fans.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is something as unusual as a pretty damn great single player Star Wars game. The different worlds are a joy to explore, while the combat make you feel like a mighty jedi while still being challenging. It's a shame the game feels so unpolished and somewhat unfinished, but luckily the problems aren't big enough to ruin the overall experience. On the contrary; Fallen order is best single player Star Wars game since Republic Commando.

Far Cry 6 starts off strong with a haunting and pretty realistic sequence. During the adventure, we get plenty of similar scenes, but also the exact opposite - and everything in between. It creates an incredibly disjointed experience, but it's actually not as bad as it sounds since the actual gameplay is varied and enjoyable. Instead, it is the high number of bugs and, to say the least, strange behavior from some of the computer controlled characters that lowers the enjoyment a notch.

A Hat in Time is a game full of fun, charm and variety - just like the best 3D platform games from the late 90's. Even though A Hat in Time is not as polished as, for example, Super Mario's latest adventures, it's still an entertaining adventure that is a great choice for everyone who wants to relive something akin to the platforming games from their childhood.

Yoshi's Crafted World is a lovely but somewhat uneven experience. There is much to enjoy, especially the graphics and creativity that each level offers. Our only wish is that the game would be more challenging, and that the gameplay evolved during the adventure. But if you can ignore these short-comings, Yoshi's Crafted World is a great Nintendo style adventure.

Pokkén Tournament DX is a fun fighting game that is easy to get in to. The core gameplay is more about flashy attacks than finesse, but there is still plenty of room for tactics. All in all, Pokkén Tournament DX is a good addition to the Switch library. Just do not expect many changes from the Wii U version, since it is essentially the same game.
