Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a role-playing game with a compelling combat system, beautiful graphics, and catchy melodies. While the blanketing narrative comes off as assertively obnoxious with interminable conversations mixed with a tiresomely obtuse progressive system, the flow of the game and everything in between is just peachy.

The final episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm solidifies its well-deserved place as one of the best prequel entries to a popular gaming franchise ever. It captures the original series aesthetic and narrative tone while successfully introducing its own new and unique story elements that enhance rather than subtract from the original game’s established setting. Its shorter episode count did feel like the reason for many storylines falling by the wayside in favour of Chloe, but its great writing throughout and emotional ending brings a satisfying conclusion to the overall LiS saga – though there is still one more bonus episode coming in 2018 for owners of the Deluxe Edition to look forward to.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is the third iteration of the 2D platformer and the game continues to be another brilliant Kong quest. A ton of diverse levels, an ample amount of replayability, exceptional controls, noteworthy audio design, and rambunctious gameplay effortlessly fills your heart up with joy. The difficulty may still be a bit harsh for some and lack of updates is extremely underwhelming, but Donkey Kong Country Returns HD proves that Donkey Kong is still going strong! Okay!

Technically Street Fighter V is probably the most accomplished fighting title to date, with the gameplay mechanics standing second to none. The characters are all unique and there’s little overlap of abilities and the content that’s available out of the box, what little that there is, is a solid and thoroughly enjoyable gaming experience… It just currently stands as little more than an impressive demonstration of what’s to come in the following months, which is a little disappointing.

Simple at the beginning, and darn hair ripping harder near the end. But a odd breath of originality in a predictable land scape of first person games, well worth a go especially for the price of admission.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire – Ultimate Edition is one of the most compelling and lore-rich role-playing games I’ve had to pleasure of playing, but unfortunately, its greatness on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is let down by a very sub-par console port full of bugs and loading time issues. Still highly recommended for fans who prefer the big TV instead of the computer screen, but only if you have the patience necessary to await the necessary bug fixes and play through unavoidable load times.

City Tales embraces a slower, cosier approach to city building. The district system rewards strategic placement rather than constant micromanagement, and the companions add depth to the story and gameplay mechanics. Combined with a soundtrack that quietly adapts to your progress, the game creates a cohesive medieval atmosphere that is easy to settle into. For players looking for a city builder with a rewarding gameplay loop that doesn’t require constant micromanagement, City Tales offers a satisfying alternative.

Even though Shadows of the Damned is relatively short game (10+ hours), it's actually quite satisfying and even when you died more than a dozen times, you just want to continue playing because every chapter that you play offers something uniquely different, whether through its demon fights, puzzles or power-ups.

It’s a great addition to the Elder Scrolls Lore and a lot of fun to set foot upon those lands again with higher quality visuals and game mechanics. If you love your open world gaming mixed with a bit of sword and sorcery, grab a copy and don your armour… it’s time to save someone from something…. oooh what’s that quest icon over there for…..

Sure, Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited has been on the PC for awhile now and although the graphics may not match the PC version, it’s definitely a far smoother experience in terms of gameplay and ZeniMax Online Studios should be commended on creating a great control system that really makes this a sturdy MMORPG experience on the XBox One.

If you’re a fan who’s been waiting to get the Etrian Odyssey games on a modern console, it’s worth grabbing one– the one with your favourite classes, or simply the third one for its added sea exploration. But unless you’re well-acquainted with the grinding and mapping, or have just forgotten how stagnant the gameplay can be, you’ll likely be disappointed by how sparse the excitement is.

The Necromancer’s Tale is a dark, narrative experience that leans into atmosphere and story over instant gratification. Its slow pace and layered systems won’t appeal to everyone, but for those willing to be patient, it offers a world that feels menacing, tense, and strangely intimate. It stumbles now and then, yet it in its best moments, it evokes a sense of power that becomes dangerously addicting.

Episode 1 of Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a genuinely fun and well-written return to the intriguing world of LiS with similar profound themes, extensive character development and ‘hella’ interesting high-school drama. Deck Nine have introduced compelling new ideas in their prequel while remaining respectful of the original source material, and fans will be hard-pressed to find fault in their faithful rendition of the somber atmosphere of Arcadia Bay.

Ultimately your enjoyment of the Switch port comes down to whether you value accessibility over performance. XCOM 2 is a fantastic game and is a great title to play on the go If you are looking for the definitive XCOM experience it may be best to stick to the PC version. If you can handle the performance issues and you’ve already burned through the Switches excellent library of similar titles then this game is absolutely worth recommending.

Overall, Arizona Sunshine 2 VR is a decent game… you don’t have to be a fan of Zombie movies, games etc to enjoy it… you can just think of it as a first person shooter set in a scorching hot location with some very unhealthy looking enemies. Good controls and nice graphics make it a fun game to play… the price tag might be a bit high, so perhaps wait for a sale… but you should find a decent bit of fun here.
